Unfortunately the leeds arcade scene died some time ago. Mill hill used to be the spot, as was Centre 4, even hollywood bowl had some cps2.
I’d be interested to know what games patester and polatity are into. If you play alpha 3 or tekken 5, we got those over in sheffield, let us know if you fancy some match-making. Given the lack of arcades, you’re welcome to chill.

I’ve never played Tekken 5 due to the lack of arcades here, I’m interested in playing it though. I like Alpha 3 but I suck at V-Ism and it’s not the sort of thing I can be bothered to spend time learning just to be competitive (the fact that I suck in general is probably a bigger hurdle than V-Ism, but I can get over that just by playing good people a lot). I dunno how often I’d be able to afford to travel to Sheffield on a student budget though, haha. I mostly play 3s and CvS2 but I’ll really play anything that anyone else is.
edit: okay, it seems that with a student rail card a day return to sheffield is only 5 so i don’t think money is going to be a problem, haha. I guess i’ll be hitting up sheffield in september. is there any chance of them getting any new fighters any time soon? tekken 5 is nice but some 3s action would be great.
I jumped off Tekken at TTT stage but I’d be up for learning it again. (Sadly I only have DC, XB and GC D-mutherfuckin-oh) Alpha 3? I messed around with the DC version, but never got into it. Could always give it a shot.
I mainly play CvsS2. :rolleyes: But recently I’ve started playing 3s and GGXX#r. But yeah, i’m willing to adapt.

i got to admit i haven’t really touched the arcade scene in years shame really but then the last street fighter arcade i can remember playing in wales was super street fighter 2 in live wire in the queens west arcade which closed down ages ago and even when it was open everyone was playing mk2
i played a few of the other arcades on like holidays but in wales we are pretty much stuck with our consoles
i know there used to be a 3s machine in glamorgan uni’s student union but no idea if its still there
holding a tournament in wales would be brilliant but most people around s. wales are all talk and no trouser
i spent some time working for a major games store and when ever we had consoles traded in we had to test them (perk of the job) and needless to say street fighter came out if there were two controllers i usually fought one of the guys that worked there but they pretty much sucked they were more interested in halo
sorry back to my point i used to get people coming up watching usually nostalgic like man i haven’t played that in years or little kids asking to have a go but when they saw me fight the omments that usually came out were button basher
i even had one kid bragging that he beat all his mates on ex3 using a steering wheel (um whocares 2d all the way) but when you say to them well do you want a match it all goes quiet
yeah i hit those buttons hard and i hit those buttons fast but i know what buttons i’m hitting
button basher is possibly the dumbest line to use when you have had your ass handed to you and i have to say compared to most of the guys on these boards i suck

A student yes, but It’s not a perma college. I go to Bridgend College. So I still live in Llanharan. I will also be doing my Uni course in bridgend college, since its the ideal location to get to.
Like I said in my PM, check out #cornertrap on EFnet (if you can use mIRC) and you should find 2 other welsh players there. I’ve talked vaguely with both since I’m rarely in there.
Something needs to be organized, Deanimate would like to organize something but nothing has been planned or put forward. But if anyone can actually get something going for the welsh (or close to wales) then I’m game. I just need to know the time and place to see if it’s ideal.
