There’s a slight chance GGXX#R may be coming to UCLA’s X-Cape during the next school quarter (Winter 2005). But I wouldn’t bet anything on it.
BTW, anyone else notice how everything seems to fall apart near the end of the quarter, then get magically fixed just in the time for the following quarter?
You guys get T5?
N
We have T5
Hey guys,
Is there gonna be ANY comp over winter break? (cvs2, xx, 3s)I just go during winter break when I’m around UCLA…
and can someone tell me the best/easiest place to find parking??? I always have to park on 1-2 hour zones and continuously move my car…
Damn I just read Yumi graduated… congrats… but now who the heck am I going to play when I randomly go to UCLA…
i got every now and then, just let me know when ur going to ucla. best place for parking is the structure right by the arcade after 9 bcuz meters r free. otherwise buy a permit or walk from westwood
How much is it, does it have the card thingie, and is it Free during Free Play?
N
its a quarter to start and continue and they have the card and ps2 slots. I dunno about the free play question
I’m back from school (not UCLA), and last time I went to UCLA, there were some cool cats, and damn decent in the games too, at UCLA. You all still playing during finals or you all studying? Not gonna make the drive there if no one’s gonna be battling. PM me, looking for MVC2 players
come after winter break… we’re all going home (i presume) for the next 3 weeks.
week 1 of next quarter should be a good time for marvel…
When’s that?
i come whenever there are good 3s players anyone down for tonyte possibly?
Oh god. I might become a Tekken player.

Well, there’s me on GGXX and SSV and the mythical GGXX#R that may or may not come to X-Cape. I’ll be around for about another two years. I don’t think I can ever get started on CvS2, and I’ve always hated SF3 since its inception.
As for parking, the stretch of Veteran (northbound lanes) on UCLA’s west border has street parking except for Thurs 8a-11a (street-cleaning) and weekdays 4p-6p (rush hour, on threat of tow-away). The walk to the arcade from there isn’t too bad; took me 25 minutes to and 20 minutes back (no idea why return was faster). I don’t know if you already know, but the other side (southbound lanes) of Veteran is technically Beverly Hills and there is no parking except with resident permits. Further south on Veteran next to the VA cemetery I don’t see signs about time limits, only about street cleaning on Fri 8a-11a, but there are two steep hills between this part of Veteran and campus. There’s a part of Midvale where 2hr-parking is in effect until 4p, but you’ll still face the Two Steep Hills Of Doom (Strathmore) or the Long Hike Through DeNeve Dorms (Gayley). The other nearby streets are 2-hr parking until 6p.
The metered parking in/under Lot 6 is 8min per 25c (~$2/hour) with limit 2hr, until 9pm. Daily permit is $7, so about 5:15pm is when meters end up cheaper than permit (if you don’t count the hard limit). The meters area has two change machines which are kept filled more often than X-Cape’s. In fact, I use these machines when the UCLA arcade inevitably starves their own changers.
If you opt for permit/all-day parking, I highly recommend Lot 4; there is an area in there where the (pedestrian) exit opens right to the student union (details available upon request). The one catch is that getting you car to Lot 4 can be a bit of a headache. Lots 9, 8, and 6 connect to Westwood Blvd., but they tend to fill quickly for precisely that reason. Lots 32 and 36 are technically off-campus and far, but they do offer shuttle service (they got rid of the turnaround stop, so the next closest stop is either Life Sciences/Botany or Murphy Hall), and if you return really really late, you can spend time in Westwood Village on the return walk (food, etc.).
I won’t be able to make it to any compos over winter, as my folks have made plans for a family outing (road trip). I’d still like to know how I stack up against other people in GG (besides against the UCLA regulars), though.
not sure, but i’d guess around jan 10th for now
i’ll post when i get back from break
We will never, ever be friends.
Everyone else, just post up when you’re going and I’ll hit the spot. I’ve been meaning to swing back by anyway to get at the T5 machine (playing dress-up is top-tier).

Zero week is 2005 Jan 03 (Mon), classes start 2005 Jan 06 (Thu), so Jan 10 is indeed first week.
I can always use having more people chase me away from 3S.
