OMG I wish I could have made it so bad. My GF went back to America to visit tho, so we have no money left for me to go stay in Tokyo. 
It looks so epic though. Top 8 only has 1 Karas player in it, plus a PTX and Cash/Roll. AHHH. I’d love to see what the yatterman looks like though. I’ve yet to see a yatter who I felt really used his potential.

from my limited understanding of the game i was very much thinking that yatterman, karas was one of the best teams in the game(theory fighter) and i’m happy to see that that player made it. along with a roll player.
notice casshern is a low tier but he is used TWICE as much as karas. lol
I feel like Casshern has been rising tiers wise. My guess is that if there were new tiers released, he would be mid. With proper use of assists to help lock down, his mixups are fierce, and he can turn any random ass hit into long combos for big damage if you’re smart about it.

Poor G.X, I was really pulling for him. Hopefully we’ll get to see these vids somehow since they apparently aren’t making a dvd for TvC even though they’re making them for every other game. That being said, I’m going to try to throw together a post-SBO tier list based on how I see the metagame now. I’m gonna include reasoning and everything, and try to get that up in the tier list thread either tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully we’ll get some debate, and work out something that the community can sort of agree on.

Casshern appears in the top 8 twice. How the hell could he be low tier? He is mid or high by definition.
How good a character is is solely defined by how much they win. Casshern wins. Period.
i think tier talk is stupid too, but if someone’s good enough with a character/s in any fighting game, they can take a lot of ppl out regardless of choice. Measuring it by constant top 8’s seems like the win/loss ratio path to determining something in a kind of logical process, but it’s not like sum1 who just picked up the game using Ken/Ryu would be liekly to beat someone who’s been playing for a lot for years, placing high in tournaments (pretend this game’s been out for “years”, for the hypothetical situation) using Rock/Roll. Buuuuut, win/loss ratio and constant high placement in high-level play makes a lot of sense to use as an orderly instruction and proves likeliness of matchup possibilities, thus being a perfect process for determining ‘tiers’, so just dismiss this. lol.
I don’t think you understand how tiers work. They’re defined by matchups, not by how much a character wins.
Example: If jesus descends to earth and starts dominating Marvel with Roll/Servbot/Jill, these characters will not become higher tier. Why? Because he’s Jesus. He’s not winning because of the characters, he’s winning because he’s Jesus. If a character has mostly bad matchups, they’re low tier by definition.
Casshern is mid tier because he does decently well but doesn’t have any big advantages over most of the cast. Again, this is obviously theory fighter because you can’t account for things like skill differences between players. HOWEVER, people who have played the game enough start to come to an understanding of the tools available to each character and how that gives them advantages and disadvantages in the context of the particular game engine. At which point, it’s both fun and somewhat productive in the context of understanding the game better, to discuss tiers with other people who also play and might have some different ideas.
