I don’t think it makes Lion-O look weak but it definitely makes Tygra to be on even footing with Lion-O. Now they are both heirs to powerful cat clans and both have powerful weapons from their lineage now.
It was kind of awkward, but it’s realistic considering they were captured, and the remaining Thundercats surviving was more important at the time than mourning. So I didn’t have a problem with it. The only kids cartoon I know that kept the melodrama grounded in reality was Batman TAS (and most of DCAU)

YES!!! YES!!! YES!!!
Fuck the haters of this game! YES!!! YES!!! YES!!!
Also sword of omens proton cannon super as well.
That Wily Kit/Kat episode was nothing but filler. I mean it’s okay but wasn’t nearly as interesting as Tygra’s episode because nothing was at stake.
They just cannot carry an episode by themselves imo, their nowhere near interesting enough. Where’s my Cheetara training with Jaga episode?
Well it gave some good backstory on them and El Dara(?) as well. Really can’t wait to see what Pumyra looks like too.
Loved the last episode, it was really touching. The part where Cheetara and Kit were on the tree and Kit made her fall didn’t hurt, either.
They sure are adding a lot of backstory and depth to all these characters. I don’t know if any of this was in the old show, even the part about Lion-o and Tygra’s families, but I’m starting to like it. I just wish the animation and some story elements were better.
It wasn’t, they hinted at certain things in the old show (Tygra and Cheetara being together, Lion-O being immature, etc) but this show is really going more in depth with all the characters.
They changed many things for the better.
Native Son = best episode of the series so far. So many good lines (let’s go find that shortcut) and scenes (the flashbacks). Amazing ending.
Yeah tygra had the best episode so far, yeah it had alot more humor and real emotion than the subpar kats episode.
This series has some of the best-written filler episodes I’ve seen in a cartoon series… but they’re still filler episodes, and way too many of them.
Alot of fans should be pleased to see Dog king in the house! Too bad he didn’t do anything badass in this episode but he did put Lion-O in his place.
BTW Lion-O was way stupid in this show, your really gonna try attacking the Dog king IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FUCKING DOG KINGDOM!!! Stupid as hell, they were way outnumbered and if he wanted he could have had all of them killed.
I do like the new cat chick tho she was pretty badass.
New??? New??? Pumyra is NOT new.
I don’t remember the bitch so she new to me.
I remembered the name as soon as I heard them say it but I keep drawing a blank on her. I have that feeling where I know the thing or person but can’t remember what or how.
I could have google’d her and played it off but I’m too old for that shit. I knew I saw her before and now I know where, she was a very minor character in the old show that makes sense for why I knew the name but couldn’t remember anything about her.
Either way she was very cool in this episode and I’m sure she’ll be made to look even more badass and eventually become Lion-O’s Queen so that’ll be great for all the five people that paid enough attention to remember her.
Lion-O with that Terry Bogard burning knuckle to Ratar-O. He even got the pose down right too.
Heh. I saw that ep early saturday morning and I applaud the way they made Ratar-o. VERY good. He’s a slimy, evil, dirty rat. If you’ve seen the old cartoon of Charolette’s web and know the character Templeton, then think of Ratar-o as an EVIL version of him. Rats are basically looked upon as “dirty” creatures. Templeton broke that mold, and Ratar-o straight-up Embraced it. I have no complaints about how they have done so far with the oldschool. I cannot think of one piece of advice I would give to them in the way the characters have been shown. 30 years ago to now? These people have done well. Kudos given.
-Starhammer-
lol are you okay?
Alot of Tygra and Cheetara this episode which was cool to see their different personalities work together. Cheetara had the best line telling Tygra “your lucky you’re cute” i fucking lol’d at that because she’s usually so supportive.
I felt embarrassed for Lion-o when he told Cheetara to be careful earlier, Tygra gave him a look like “really? It’s over bro”. Panthro was funny with his “kill me first he’s gotta save us” sarcasm line as well. I guess they redeemed Lion-O with his great fight with Ratarro though.
It makes me sad this thread doesn’t get as much attention as the young justice one because this show is much better than anyone expected and it deserves better.
