The Tekken 6 Thread - December 08 for PS3 JPN port, no info on US/World

i just found this thread.

dont know if this was posted already but http://jp.youtube.com/user/geesendou

this channel has tons of T6 vids among other things

He has neutral hopkick(u+4), but that’s mostly defensive. New TP is NC, and hit confirmable. His wall game isn’t lacking, but he still has problems getting people in the air without them fucking up.

Old, sorry. lol We’ve been all over their shit for months now. Also MarkMan gets another batch and w/e else he can find and posts up on SDTekken.com. Also look up tko910(me) and StridaJin(my boy back in Oki) for more older T6 play from Okinawa.

Thanks. savage stance? interesting
I assume after the second combo you can go into savage stance?

:arazz: we all gotta start some where.

After certain moves if you hold forward you will enter the stance. It is ESSENTIAL to know which moves go into it, and how soon you can cancel into a Savage Stance move. Almost every SS move has a use.

Smaller combos
db+1, ws+4, d+4,1+2~f
the db+1 here is faster than the other one but doesn’t allow a B! combo unless your opp doesn’t tech fast enough after ws+4. Go into SS after this to get some pretty easy 50/50 Oki.

f+1+2, d+1+2

If you’re close enough to get this it’s always good for humiliation purposes. SHOVE A BITCH. Realistically if you can get this you can usually launch for better dmg. But I like it so stfu.

Re: b+1+2
If you get this on CH, always go into the df+1~f combo.

Wow, it took me this long to actually play T6 at Super Arcade and now I’m hooked.

I didn’t want to play it before because players were way far ahead than me and I would get my ass kicked, but I found an opportunity when no one was playing and learned the game on the spot again and even beat some players.

I’ve been using Jack6 and Ganryu a lot!

I was thinking about tekken games the other day and realized why I can’t get into them anymore. They’re too big for their own good. In order to play well, you not only have to know all of the your character’s moves, you have to learn all of the rest of the character moves just to know the high-low games. I just don’t have the time for that anymore. Anybody else have that problem?

Nope…Just learn your basic juggles first then expand them with new shit as you go along. That’s how you learn your move set.

As for high low shit, just watch everybody else very closely. You’re bound to know something detrimental about that player’s game-play when your turn comes around.

Doing that should help anyone new to or getting back into Tekken.

I watched matches, and its looks like basically, whoever gets the launcher takes the person all the way to the corner, and thats it. They got like 5% left.

Then, they either get hit the last time and lose the round, or they get a launcher and go into yet another rediculous combo that manages to take them from wall to wall, and get the win.

There seems to only be a high/mid/low game ONLY before the first hop-kick/launch is delivered, and only after the first 95% combo is delivered. Sadly, the person who just got hit for 95% can get a combo and still win the match, since he has rage.

Drop Ganryu. He sucks.

Tell that to our beloved Brnsn Trn.

I thought he said he wasn’t gonna play T6 cuz he’s lazy?

He’s a liar and a cheat. He said in #capcom that he would be there at EVO for Tekken 6. He needs to get dat first place.

Have you played a 3d game before? T6 is like the easiest tekken to play. As far as the last paragraph, that’s the way it should be, otherwise you’ll have scrubs doing 50/50s in your face with no spacing and a bad risk/reward ratio and it will turn into a guess fest. Actually T6 allows this moreso than other tekkens.

yeah but it’s not a big problem, just block high and react to low, just like in 3rd strike or other 2d games. block low and react to overhead. 3d games are their own beasts so I can’t compare to anything else but in vf, I can’t even see the moves come out. The only problem I see beginners having trouble with is because they try to attack or interrupt when they aren’t supposed to, or they throw out unsafe moves like launchers and lows left and right. You just watch a few vids with the character and you get the basic gist how to play.

You don’t have to know what the actual moves (the commands) are for the other character, just know if they are punishable once you block it, or if you can sidestep it a certain way. A lot of people including me don’t look at frame data, we just learn by testing and asking others. The more you play, the more you will see the character using the same moves over and over.

I beat MYK’s bob (who is the best california bob player afaik) in tournament play on my first t6, 2nd tekken tournament ever having only played against bob 3-4 times before that. I didn’t know any of his moves or what to watch out for. I just focused playing on my own game. I lost the set when he switched to steve. If you know your game well, and you play to win, you don’t really have to know the other character although it will help. I think this goes for any game. How did emphy beat pyrolee at ffa having never played a high level yun before? He played his own game.

I can never thank you enough. Ill keep all of this in mind.

anyways the scrubs online will be annoying in this game I can already tell :arazz:

He sucks in T6 now?

He was my favorite in T5 and DR, I used to slaughter players with him.

I did noticed his Sumo Tackle was replaced with a new attack though.

Scrubs online are no different than scrubs offline.

Well, that’s not true. Loudmouth scrubs online can’t catch 5 to the face for calling you a faggot.

I guess then they will just catch your characters 5

All of his good points from DR and 5 are nerfed now, and almost all of the cast has better shit.

Tackle is now f+3+4, f+1+2 is a new high palm. The palm is pretty much his best post-B! move, since everything else that works for him is wall only. His overall damage output is horrible now, he no longer has those oki games, I think he has less range on his launchers, and his launchers are no longer safe on block(IIRC).

ummm Saotome do you have a clone?

When I’m at work and the connection is particularly sucky for some reason I will doublepost in sections that I ignore the post limit timer(areas I mod).

In some cases I can have speeds so slow I can even doublepost in GD. -_-
