The Tekken 6 Thread - December 08 for PS3 JPN port, no info on US/World

Ugh… I don’t know what they want to import it, its going to be missing the tekken.net system and the downloads :frowning:

But still, if you can’t wait

Asian version has world ranking just like all the other stuff they’ve imported. =)

If anything the US version will lack the net features just like the US version of VF5 version C (which we also have).

if its running on a ps3 console i wonder why it ain’t out yet??

because releasing a console version of a game immediately after an arcade release is never financially optimum

Markman / Sdtekken has a shit ton over at their youtube page.

If you’re looking for true combo vids, I haven’t seen any real decent ones yet.

http://www.challenger.jp/movie_tekken6.html The few songs that I’ve heard so far are fucking bad:tup:

If by bad you mean terrible bukkake porn bad then yes

I didn’t think there was going to be a US arcade version? Mind pointing me to a link or something? Thanks!

every time i see bound being used i fell digusted.

I want to use Kaz, Miguel, and Bob bad. Does anyone know if there is a cabinet in Texas?

Seriously…wtf is going on, can someone honestly say to me that “Juggles” where toned down in Tekken 6, when B basically makes up for the inability to jab dash jab you across the stage…

Just look at this video of Nina…and btw, this matchup was very recent, so it’s being played on the most updated Tekken6.

Steve vs Nina

Not only do we still see crazy damage potential off of a the launch+juggle+B+wallsplat pulled off by Nina, but we see the damage potential off of a Raged Steve, who comes back to victory against a full life Nina :annoy:.

I maybe anxious to play Tekken 6, but even before playing it I can already see that some of these things are ridiculous, if things are already like this with the handful amount of people playing Tekken 6 at this moment, I can only imagine when T6 is a few months into it’s life after a full release.

honestly rage is stupid. but the juggles are not that bad, in 5 and dr they did more damage. 80 percent juggles were pretty common with walls. in this game bound causes every juggle to be pretty much over half life. if you liked 5 and dr then you should prolly like this too.

I’m not really a big fan of bound. I’m of the opinion “If you’re going to reduce the effectiveness of air juggles, don’t just add in another system that effectively replaces that” but that’s just the way Tekken is.

Personally I preferred in 5/DR you at least had to have a WALL near you or something, but such is the nature of the game.

That video though - Yeah, the Nina combo was excessive, but the Steve comeback had nothing to do with juggles or rage mode. He played well and mixed up the Nina to pieces, I’m quite confident that a KO would’ve resulted with or without rage mode.

Get to www.sdtekken.com to watch 1hour and 25minutes of tournament videos.

The bound system isn’t that much bad when it comes to damage. In T5DR, you took a lot of damage with wall, you know it pretty well, I guess. It’s just that it takes too long.

IMO juggles are very bad…damage was high in 5 but sometimes alot of it was through oki. You roll wrong or get knocked down and you taking some form of damage. Now in 6 I think the damage potential for everyone is better, now instead of a combo and then oki you get a combo, b!, combo (free damage)and then oki…or wall and oki that shit sucks. And rage make things worse…

I personally think the bound system is a pretty cool addition for this reason. I’ve always been a fan of juggles because you can put your own spin on how you deal damage. Characters having different moves that bound you and different followups that work give you even more freedom. That means you’ll see a lot of creativity in combos and you won’t get beaten down the same way all the time. Didn’t like rage mode at first, but it’s really subtle now and you can edit the color of the streak which is niff.

Fuck the item attacks tho (except for Armor King’s bat) they’re cheesy.

Also, Mokujin is gonna get a lot of use from me as almost everyone seems like they’re interesting to play this time around. I haven’t seen this much animation/character overhaul in a Tekken game…EVER. And that includes 5 which did A LOT.

Rage balances out the damage from combos. It gives the person who ate a big combo or 2 a chance to strike back. And from most of the videos I’ve seen a rage comeback is very rare, so it’s not as abusable or broken as you would believe. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with it.

I have been wanting to get into Tekken (and 3D fighters in general) for a while now. Are there any good tutorials for learning basic Tekken gameplay similar to the VF4:Evo tutorial or the CCC2 Sirlin vids? Basically anything that will teach me the basic concepts (think of zoning, crossups, bread n butter combos, in SF but I want to learn the basic stuff for Tekken. Also, is there a Tekken equivalent of Team Scrub/ST Ryu where one can get the basic gameplay down?

How in the world does Rage balance out damage from combos? If anything, they make damage from combos even worst, because instead of dealing out 50% your dealing out 60-70%+ instead.

Also, Rage gives the losing player a chance…remember that, the losing player a chance for a comeback. Which is retarded…yeah, why don’t we just give them an Auto-Win Button while there at it.

Giving someone an advantage to deal out more damage simply because they got their ass handed to them is a horrible idea. Also, you probably missed alot of videos, because there was plenty dealing with Raged Characters doing huge damage, check tz in the rage thread, plenty of them.

Rage+Crushes+Juggles+B+Wallsplat is going to = Big Damage Potential. Rage was simply something that was not needed.

Marty, I disagree with you on that Steve comment, because it would’ve taken off far less damage normally had the Steve player not been in rage mode, he did 4 hits that drained away more than half of Nina’s lifebar!

well maybe you should think about rage in a different manner. instead of doing a combo that leaves them in rage mode do a combo that does slightly less damage so that it doesnt put them into rage. from there you should have a pretty good shot of taking them out by turtling or doing a move that does moderate damage that will kill them instead of poking them to death.
