Thats the only positive thing from Rage, instead of it being like the 30% it was before, it’s now dropped to 5%…which too me is still bs. Even by watching some of those videos with someone in Rage mode, nearly taking out a near full life opponent.
I agree about the Bound System as well, since Namco said that Tekken 6 is harder to keep opponents in the air. However, juggles are still strong, but with the bound system, it’s showing some pretty outrageous damage potential off of it. I still see characters going air borne nearly halfway across the screen. Damage up against walls still looks like it hurts, especially when added with the juggle and bound.
However, I was never a fan with the Crush System since it was implemented in T5, and with it still in T6, I really don’t know what to think, since they seriously should’ve looked into it to tweak it, maybe they did, but I haven’t heard about it, from what I’ve read. For Tekken 6, I was never enthusiastic of the Rage System, or the Bound System from the start.
I play at Chatan Palace Club Sega in Okinawa.
Yes I do. Although, I cannot translate kanji I still know how to buy and equip all the shit that I want.

Cool. I have seen some people change the range colors to black or white as opposed to the red. Do you know where they get that option from? Is it a special ranking?
BTW, does buying the gold, silver, brauns ranking do anything. I bought it hoping it would unlock stuff but nothing happened
To get the option to change the rage colors you have to get the special bonus from the super roulette at the end of a round. In the first roulette, the last reel has to land on “LUCKY” for the super roulette to spin and that super roulette has to land with the 3 treasure icons in a row. The first time you get the special bonus black rage is available for equip and the 2nd time white rage is available. I’ve seen someone with white rage get the special bonus a third time but I do not know what is relased then. Also, if you get a special bonus with one character, if you have multiple cards, it will only be available for the character you got the bonus with.
Those bronze, silver and gold ranking bars are a complete waste of money, IMO. They just show up under your rank and have something written on them much like they had in DR. Some say shit like “MVP” or “ACE” or some bullshit in kanji. Sorry to say, but I’m sure you’ve just wasted your gold on that crap because it does not unlock anything.
lol ray talkin like he knows shit now =p j/k
And your home arcade is Hitech Sega Chatan PLAZA, get that shit right nigga.
HEY HEY HEY!!! YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE HERE!!! I THOUGHT U WERE COMING BACK TODAY!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH:annoy:!!
Honestly, I’ve been reading more and watching the videos of the Tekken 6 matchups…and these matches which involved rounds won by Rage have a cause for concern…
Baek vs Law
The 1st round…look at Baeks ss44 with Rage…are you seriously kidding me?! Yeah, Law hit the wall…but that was like…70%+ on two damn hits?! :wasted:
Or how about this one…
Steve vs Miguel

In the second round, Steve drops down to basically no life, with Rage Mode on. Miguel has full complete life, however with the damage output from rage and one single mistake he gets completely annihilated by the Raged Steve within that round.
To me, this is a cause for concern, I am still advent that they should tweak the Rage System, so that it doesn’t deal heavy damage such as this. Because I can already start to see tournament level play with people winning rounds or even sets due to things like this.
Damn, Miguel is super safe. Is the general consensus that he’s top tier right now??? Because it sure seems like it.
I’ve heard that they’ve toned down the rage damage from 30% to 5%. Not quite sure if I notice a difference just yet but I’ll make sure to keep a look out. Also, concerning the Baek video, the damage was so high for 1. CH, 2. rage, 3. wallsplat, and 4. wall break. All those factors add more damage in that particular instance so I wouldn’t be so fast to lay all the blame on the rage system.
I know I’m looking too much into it but it was fun, none the less.
BAEK 1 shows how much damage the initial hit (the move wasn’t ss+4,4 btw) did on CH. You clearly see Law crumple stun due to the CH property of the move.
BAEK 2 shows how much damage would have been dealt given the situation didn’t end in a wallsplat and wall break. Still alot of damage but not all that bad.
BAEK 3 shows the final outcome of all these factors coming together. No doubt that rage does a hell of alot of damage BEFORE the patch but that is a very bad example to use in proving rage’s “brokeness” to everyone. Way too many factors helped to contribute to that damage dealt and I’m suprised you didn’t catch it when you first viewed the video. Anyhow, that’s my two cents.
Both of those vids were of the game before the Christmas Eve patch. Juggle damage was higher than it is now and Rage is at 10% instead of 5%. You can really see a difference in damage in Post patch vids, but there are still half life juggles with bound+wall(which is really dumb. I wish you can tech the bound as a mixup option instead of something guarenteed, like…
-if you tech the bound and they don’t attack, they can get another juggle/tech trap off that doesn’t bound when you land and gives them better damage, but lands you far away. If you hit a wall, you can tech roll without getting wall splatted.
-if you don’t tech bound and they do attack, then it’s guarenteed like in T6. If they hesitate waiting for the tech, it’s not guarenteed.
-Also, after a certain number of hits for the juggle(like 3), you shouldn’t have the ability to bound. That way people would just finish the damn juggles like in DR, but you have a chance to get more damage if you force a bound mixup.
Either that, or something that will put more strategic influence in juggles instead of bound+wall rape.)
caliagent#3: Miguel is pretty damn good so far, but I heard he(and Leo and Bob) got nerfed in the patch. Don’t know to what extent though…
Firstly, I did consider in the factors, however that wasn’t my problem, the fact that is was just 2 measely hits within that situation, which resulted in such gigantic damage, which was the problem. What if he could’ve landed more hits then?
However, even with the new improved upgrades, it’s still doesn’t seem like it’s going to change the threat of rage. I never claimed it to be broken, however I don’t agree that it improved either. The mere fact that the rage just doesn’t stop from a launcher/ch or whatever, but that the damage carries over into the juggles+B+Wall splat if you can do all of that which is my beef with rage.
Reading up more about it at TZ, I agree some of the people who replied, that Rage should only be a CH damage dealer, and should only damage at this potential upon the first initial hit. Also having a time limit for it as well would be great, that way, you can’t potentially sit there and wait to crush, punish etc etc your opponent, so that it would raise the risk of it more, not to mention it would tone it’s damage potential down exceptionally.
Obviously, you didn’t, and still don’t, consider all factors because you still think it was only 2 hits when it was actually and factually 3 hits.
Wait a minute, he’s talking about the Double Claymore right? Doesn’t it do about that much damage on CH anyways? [Minus the damage from the wall break]
I don’t know if anyone’s been keepin up… But I’ve been linking/reporting on all the latest vids at my site blog…
I just uploaded a bunch of Nico Nico Tekken Club vids and some vids from Game Chariot.
I’m waiting for my Feb. 2008 issue of Arcadia to get here… It comes with a Tekken 6 movelist book and a new feature on the game… I gotta warm the scanner up
Even if it was 3 hits that shit was utterlly RIDICULOUS. I had to check to see if there was a super meter on the screen cuz i thought law got hit with a level 3 something or other. But someone said they patched it and changed that shit so thats good.
I was never and still not a fan of rage type systems where near death opponents get damage upgrades. If I beat that ass as dont reward them let them die no homo. I agree that it should have a time limit or something. Or have the damage of the rage decrease with each hit, blocked or not exponentially.
Regardless, I really want to play this fucking game, looks and sounds dope as shit and I haven’t played tekken in a long time.
Ugh, I don’t want to let this one review get me down, but I can’t help it…it just doesn’t seem very good from that. Most of that I could tell from just watching videos, but other things like music, I had no idea.
Man, thats not good… I was expecting so much more, but still… I was hoping it would some what blow VF5 out of the water (I love VF5) and make me get back into Tekken. Its not a bad review, but it seems Namco could have put some more polish into the game, seems like some things are a little rushed.
And being who I am, I’m not liking that the music doesn’t seem to be on par with Tekken 2/3/5/DR
