I think part of the reason the series started get flaky is because Kaz is still there. Kazuya AFAIK came back because of fans (ala Ryu and Ken in SF3). They had to figure a way to bring him back in the story even though a volcano should have melted him into nothingness. Of course they revolved it around the Devil Gene so it seems somewhat legit. Then all of a sudden by Tekken 5 they decided just to bring everyone back even though Ogre had supposedly taken their souls or whatever. Only person who hasn’t actually come back is Jun so according to the story I guess now she’s the only one that’s truly dead (as far as non boss characters go).
Wow, Namco have managed to produce the two most generic looking characters in the history of the world.

I love how cats are nitpicking about Leo, even though the cast of VF is all kinds of homosexual. Personally he reminds me of a design that would be the main character for a Suikoden game. Chick actually looks really interesting though…I got some bitches to learn I haven’t even touched Lilli yet.

Well I was speaking in a more general sense (II and IV’s main characters are also Leo esque) but now that you mention it, the Prince from V actually seem to fit the closest. And they’re both equally androginous.
ummm…can someone please explain to me why the visuals look like shit. I mean Tekken has always been fun regardless but this isnt exactly a next-gen leap for the franchise as far as the graphics are concerned. DOAU for the original Xbox actually seems more impressive in that respect…and the rock howard rip doesnt really seem to fit in well with the roster of characters. I hope they release this on the ps2 and ps3 though since from the looks of things i doubt there will be much of a graphical difference anyways heh.
I think that’s because keeping the basic format (1 on 1, simple stages) doesn’t allow for any obvious improvements, especially since they abandoned the more complex 3d element from Tekken 4. If you look closely, you’ll notice the character models look great, but nothing really jumps out and says “oh snap!” because the fundamentals look more or less the same (plus T5 looked pretty good to begin with). It’s more like “oh, it’s DR with better textures and character models”.
I agree, that particular video looks really shitty in comparison to the original trailer. I’ll still play the game and i’m sure it will improve a bit, but for now it looks like dr on a stronger system.

Zalfina looks like she’s going to be a really interesting character. Kinda like a hybrid of Ling and Lei. In the Directors vid, a couple of Zalfina’s stances were shown, looks very Lei Fei like out of VF. I think she’s got the potential to be very complex, so don’t count her out just yet.

JK…well…sorta. Seems like he plays like Lion in VF, if so, i’ll probably be picking him up.
For those of you that don’t know, the end of the trailer supposedly says there are MORE new characters to come.
The stages look very unique, a mix bag of DOA and TTT, maybe even some T4.
I think it’s important to realize that this wasn’t gameplay vid exactly, this could have just been replay shots, so the camera angles are gonna be weird. The final gameplay should still be a lot like Tekken 5 DR.

Graphics wise, it looks pretty solid i think, it’s still really early too. Things change fast, so i wouldn’t be worried about it. Expect Namco to have a very clean next gen game by the end of 07.
So far, i think the following characters have been seen (from all T6 trailers): Leo…na, Zalfina, Bryan, Armor King, Jack, Asuka, Dragonov, Jin, Devil Jin, Hwo, Lili, and maybe’s on Lei, King, Law, and Christie. Expect pretty much everyone to be back imo though, since the director said this will be the largest cast yet.

Well its not that the visuals r horrible its just feels very"current gen" you know…expeically considering the cost of the ps3 and the game itself. I think it looks slightly better then VF4:Final Tuned to be honest and although its not horrible to look at the game itself could easily run on the ps2. I just think namco mind as well release it on the ps2 like how GOW2 is.
Dammit if they dont kill the Devil story on this game then they need to finish it off by having all the Mishimas going Devil…and bring back Ogre and just have some Tekken Devil Finale with Ogre etc.
Devil Kazuya vs. Devil Jin and make Heihachi get the Devil gene so he can try to take over The Zaibatsu again or some shit.
