GL to dudes heading to the tourney. I have a long weekend coming up of projects and studying for Telecom and Java so I’ll be out of commission until Wednesday at noon after my Java midterm. I know it’s looking past many of you guys’ immediate schedule but I will definitely need to decompress Wednesday afternoon with some games!
@Matt, I think a couple days after MLG Orlando we should sit down for that Protoss coaching session. I want you to get your practice in + the hype of MLG should make for a productive couple of hours at the SLC.

After MLG until then you need to go under single player and try to get gold in the challenges just to get a feel for your race. do all of them to see which race suits you the best. Then go into multiplayer and ladder as much as possible until we get down. You need to have at least 40 replays from now until oct 17th (after MLG) .

I had fun in MK even if it was mostly getting obliterated I continued to pick up on some things so I got what I wanted out of the experience. Sub is really fun, I think I get a lot of the basics, I might take him to the next level. Noob will forever be pointman though. I feel like I’m going go through a transformation if I stick with him and become a better player overall. Noob is about patience, something I really need to absorb in general when it comes to FGs - he more or less forces me to do so to be competent at all.
I think I’ll bring some thunder and rain next time for sure. I’ve been on Noob so much I haven’t had time to mess with Rain enough…but he’s coming before long. I think 3 characters at a time will be max for me from now on. I jump around too much which is hurting me as well.

Anything specific I need to look for when saving replays? I’m just gonna start saving them all. Definitely gonna play Protoss though I may play a little Terran for fun. Something about Protoss units that make me feel boss as fuck. Something about that good Khalani – Khassar De’Templari!
goto challlenge and then stick with one race that you feel suits you best for those 40 replays. keep them saved and put them in a folder i will review them after MLG.
Optional: Have a notepad open and note the FIRST mistake you felt like you made for those games, and type that mistake in notepad for each replay with the map and date. Not necessary but will help. I will compare what you typed to my analysis of those replays.
Zerg = strength in Numbers + Mobility + High Macro capability (Economy + Unit production/fastest army REMAX)
Terran = Defensive/DB strength + Heavy Harassment capability (Small packs of our units pack a punch, Multi-pronged drops via dp ships/medivacs alone can dismantle an incompetent/inexperienced player)(Hands down funnest race for people with really high APM)
Protoss = Blunt Force Trauma. Take this shit. Fuck up once on your defense and bitch you will be flippin tables. (Strongest MAX Army Damage output, lowest APM requirement)

Protoss is like vanilla SFIV sagat (units have the highest life, stupid fucking damage once you get that ultra stocked (compare to max army)
Terran is like vanilla SFIV akuma (best in game at highest levels, but not the strongest life wise, damage potential with superb execution is very good)
Zerg is like vanilla SFIV gen (cant think of another character atm, but slap chop reminded me of how execution and mechanically demanding this race is to play at the highest levels, can be really really good in the hands of a very very seasoned and experienced player)
