That’s because you don’t know how to mash.
I’m going to be out of town for the next couple of days so no games for me tomorrow.

And I will never learn, my friend
You don’t make the training dummy do reversals. You make the training dummy do your Balrog setup then YOU do the reversals.
That’s what I was talking about. They use that for all the ridiculous safe jump testing over in the Makoto forums. (Those guys are intense! I don’t think there’s any other character-specific forum with such an active base.)
I don’t see it. Ammy’s got much better normals from what I see. The traps look fun but so did deadpool’s bolo. Btw what mix up? Deadpool never looked terrible he was supposed to be 3’s Cable initially. Deadpool with a damage buff would be hella competitive. I’m betting 'Coon is gonna be mid tier at best. His most interesting thing to me is his rocketpack crap and that jumping M that moves horizontally.
are there games tonight?
also I spoke with both Jebailey and Josh(Tyger) about this florida circuit idea i’ve got running in my head. Jebailey kind of shot it down but I think Josh and I are gonna still try and go through with it… Josh was considering some sort of Rankings or leaderboard based on performances at select tournaments throughout the state.
If this becomes accepted in the community, it would only promote the community becoming closer together. It encourages travels and players to become better than they already are, and not just become complacent that they have some select skill with in their own local community.
This is not something that I can do alone though as the fighting game scene consists of multiple people. If we want to improve the scene around us, get more people to notice us, more out of town competition, I feel that this is the best way to go. This goes hand in hand with the streaming ideas we’ve been bouncing around for the past few weeks. We got a hub, we got good players, and im pretty sure we’ve got the drive.
I’ve created a google doc for people to come and post up ideas on how to implement this. For example( how do we deal with the seeding of out of state players?) say justin wong comes to a tournament, should he be seeded cause he’s justin wong, or should he be treated as a new player in the circuit and he’ll have to earn his way up the ranking ladder. or should there be an out of town seeding skill level so since Wong probably goes to CEO and thats it, so i doesn’t affect the yearly ranking. Post up give me ideas, but lets not just talk about it and forget about it in the morning. Same thing with the stream stuff, lets get moving on this, we’re all talking about how hype this is, lets get this shit moving
Not here unless Logan wants to - I’m done 'til Ultimate.
lol he probably shot it down b/c he does not want it to get bigger than the events he runs.
Also this is a nice idea but how often are you looking for people to travel?
With the economy/gas/and lackluster games out attendance might only be great unless you hold it every so often. Like imo, anything more than 4 meet-ups a year would be over kill and attendance might suffer.
it wouldn’t be liek every two weeks. but there would probably be a ranking tournament like once a month, like i said we’re still working on the logistics of it, but if you have any ideas, espcially with all of your tourney experience, please post up. I’d love to hear anybody’s ideas
Ron: oh well that makes more sense then! Ill give that a whirl. Thanks.
Drew: I’m all for playing in it, but considering the inconsistency in this regions travel patterns, you might have a tough time getting anything to be accurate as far as ranking goes.
Actually I disagree with this statement. If somebody comes to only one tournament and finishes last, they get to be ranked last. They shouldn’t be able to challenge it by saying “I’m usually better than _______ so rank me higher.” The way I’m understanding this, it’s supposed to promote not only leveling up your game, but also increasing attendance at our non-majors. So if you wanna be the man, you gotta come beat the man, and the results will speak for themselves. That’s about as accurate as it gets. Win/loss ratios reported from tournament organizers (I’m looking at you, Drew) should be more than sufficient.
You are absolutely correct steve, thats the goal to begin with. You can say you’re the best all you want but until you come out and prove it, someone else will be in the spot. You’d be surprised how something little like rankings can get the blood boiling.
Georgia runs something with a point system, but the people in the ATL area match numbers with our whole state.
Andy there’s a typo there, it’s definitely “I deeeeeeeeeeeeeed eet”.
You know what might convince more people to get involved, is a reward for the top placement in the rankings. Everybody who hosts a Florida-ranked tournament charges an extra $1 per entrant per game, and then all the money sends the #1 Florida Ranked Fighter to CEO/FR/EVO. (Maybe pay for entry fees, or travel/hotel, or both if there are enough funds?)
In theory, its supposed to work like that, but in actuality… It never does.
Well then whoever did it in the past just did it wrong. If we had collected an extra dollar for each entrant in each game, we’d have about $40 in the pot already. Do that once a month in Tally, once every two months in Jax, and once every three months in Gainesville, and we can send the top ranked FL player in each game to something.
Update, not going to be back at all until Sunday
