Got another question about this convention. Do these rules apply exactly the same to air normals? I noticed from my own experience and in videos that a lot of people will do j.LK or j.LP (often for a chip setup), and the other guy parries it on the ground and tries to throw way too early. Is that happening because the person on the ground expected a heavier move, and the other guy hangs in the air for a longer time?
If air is like ground, different strength parry-recoveries differ by only 1f or 2f. So if heās throwing way too early, then the throw was probably input before reacting to the parry at all. Still, itās an interesting questionā¦
A dumb question I know, but Iām confirming something for a dude who swears up and down that Iām wrong.
You canāt grab someone out of block-stun, right?
Say they pick Ryu/Ken they do jHK, then grab. That shouldnāt work, right? Because the other guy is still in block-stun, youād have to wait a second in order to grab them.
This guy on GGPO swears up and down you can grab someone as theyāre in block-stun.
Heās wrong.
He is very wrong. Itās just that he might be misjudging how long he or his opponent is in blockstun.
Thatās what I thought. But oddly enough it works on GGPO. Itās another quirk. Dudley players love doing jHK or jHP then immediate grab.
Itās not ggpo, itās you. Either tech the throw or neutral jump parry.
Uhm, but Iām still in block stun when they do that so saying ātech the grabā doesnāt work.
Video plox.
So parry the jump in, anti air it, neutral jump parry after the block. Or better yet just try and stay out of dudleys jump arc range. Itās a killer.
Oh and you could just delay your throw by a few frames and it would still tech, since obviously he canāt throw you in block stun either. Or you could do a UOH. Jesus. Just use your brain.
Why so angry dude? And yeah I use those tactics and I donāt know youāre so angry all the time. Do you write all of your posts while on the toilet and you get angrier the more you try to take a giant shit?
What can I say, idiots annoy me.
Quick check, dumb question; low attacks (like Kenās crMK) interrupt Urienās Headbutt on wakeup, right?
Yea, I actually already told you this in the Alex forums. Itās possible to meaty reversal headbutt with all lows: c.lks, c.mks, c.hks. Heāll get hit and flip in the air. Itās OTG early in its start up so you cannot be too sloppy w ur low meaties if u wanna do it.
Yeah, sorry dude, I couldnāt find your post. Thanks again.
You canāt tech a throw while crouching, right?
Iām pretty sure you can.
I just tested it in MAME and I couldnāt. I set LP/LK to one button, had my guy crouching, and I couldnāt tech it.
Never mind. I just tested it again, and the weird thing is if both character throw at the same time thereās no tech, but if the guy crouching throws a split second later it techs. Weird.
Crouch techs exist in this game, I use them all the time. However, in order to make it work you must insure the cr lp hits them. You wonāt see any tech animation, youāll just tap them out (and the cr lp will be throw immune if timed right).
I believe thatās because if throws intersect on the same frame then it picks a random winner and doesnāt give the loser a tech. Can somebody more knowledgeable confirm if thatās the case? I think I might be wrong.
