Meant to have this up earlier but I was stuck dealing with jury selection all day.
Anyways, going through a couple more of @“chadouken!”'s courses and some of @“Infernoman”'s.

I’m out of ideas on creating new levels. I ran into road blocks with the hot potato level but I at least have a foundation to eventually finish it…
…but outside of that, I don’t know what else to do. is there at least talk of an update…? I could really use that desert or forest theme right about now.
We need new backgrounds, semi solid platforms and ground tiles badly IMO.
This week’s video:
I actually agree haha. Well, that and I have a penchant for missing the obvious.
I’m going to try more of these one screen puzzles soon though. It’s actually a really neat concept and I could use more brain-teasers, helps keep the mind ripe.
I’m really surprised we haven’t gotten more backgrounds at some point. Seems like no-brainer DLC.
Part of me still wishes there was an SMB2 layer… but I’m probably the only one lol. I loved SMB2(USA).
Only watched a little bit of this before turning it off. I’ll be playing it myself later tonight to see for myself, but what I little I saw after the first (and only ?) warp pipe.
Short’n’Spiky:
My simplest course yet can be a bitch to you if you’re not good on your jumps (also my first try at an asshole course).
D4CF-0000-0241-DA08
(Ugh. I missed a “be” in that last post? That’s fixed now.)
The front page is now updated with LordWilliam1234’s a.k.a. He-of-the-Avatar-of-the-Shifting-Outfit-Colors’s latest video, roknin’s a.k.a. He-of-the-Ever-Changing-Video-Titles’s latest video, Infernoman’s latest stage, and the Mecha Bowzilla video that Femto posted. I’ve also finally looked at least a couple of witwix’s videos now. It would have been more given the amount of time since Holy Knight mentioned him, but I was sort weirded out after I watched his first video that I didn’t watch another one until this morning. The reason I was so weirded out was because he happens to look like “love child” of a previous male co-worker of mine and a guy I previously went to college with, so much so that I have to wonder if he’s closely related to one of them; more likely the latter since he also sort of sounds like him.
Regardless, thanks, @“Holy Knight”. He does indeed seem rather “chill” and I much prefer that to noise some screaming. It was also nice to see someone complete that Swim: The Musical level. Him wearing glasses during it also helped subdue the “oh gods, someone has two daddies” level of weirdness that his face and voice gives me:
I still don’t see how, especially since you’re not using “shut up” or anything rude like that, but between people being able to offended by anything and the fact that I also still don’t understand why Mario Maker videos are suddenly tagged as such on Youtube as far as content goes, I can understand your caution I suppose.

Why @“The Damned”, I certainly have no idea what you’re talking about.
I finally got caught up on everyone’s new levels. Took a small break because DOOM. Good shit, guys.
@debs still waiting on Hot Potato!
…
roknin:
also, none of the jumps require a leaf or stacking pow blocks…if you hold the a button (?) while running and jumping mario will jump higher than normal. you kinda have to hold it for dear life lol. i made that level like that on purpose since its the sequel to crazy crullers although i think crazy crullers is probably a cooler level. anyway, here’s the level in the last post finished.
You Don’t Grind, You Don’t Shine
413E-0000-0243-24B3
regular ending to you don’t grind
i’m still working on Hot Potato…and i’ll probably make an easier level as well using smb and trees.
Ohhhhhh gotcha, I did not know that actually. So in a sense I found an unintentional way around that.
I’m sure it wasn’t that unintentional but I’m going to give myself credit anyway.
I went through and bookmarked a TON of your levels, btw. I’m actually running behind on recording this week’s video, about to do it literally right now (had to handle job stuff this morning so I couldn’t stay up and record last night like I usually do).
Will post later!
New castle concept
Was going to be in the smb3 theme but I haven’t used the super Mario world theme in awhile so…
All of the flying blocks have goombas in them. It’s supposed to be a reference to the goombas in blocks in smb3 in the desert.
If there’s anything you want to see in the level let me know.
Gonna make the second half vertical I think. I’m going to play around with it some more when I get off of work.
Thinking about having the grinders throughout the entire level. Two will fall onto the ground and into the lava. Later on a couple will fall on a track below and you’ll have to keep up with it on both sides maybe. Something like that.
Not sure if I’ll have enough space for everything I drew out on paper while at work. We’ll see.
Took me way longer than I thought to get this up, got busier than expected.
Looking dope so far. For some reason I sense some P-switch tricks coming later in the level - probably because of the blocks.
(Haha. Seeing what T20Thoughts new avatar made do a brief mental double-take after how unassuming his previous Sun one was.)
Good to see you updated, Roknin. I was waiting for you just so that I wouldn’t have to update the front page more than once if I didn’t have to like the lazy asshole I am, but who knows given LordWilliam1234 or someone else may yet post something before the end of this week. Shrug.
Regardless, both debs’s latest stage & accompanying two videos are on the front page alongside your latest video. So that’s update to in that regard at least. Still so much that likely needs to be done though. Perhaps finally this weekend since I’ve actually gone out the previous three in a row, which is basically unheard for me.
Anyway, I currently can’t think of anything that I’d particularly like to see in that new castle concept, debs, though I suppose even if I did it wouldn’t matter very much since I still don’t have the game. Thus far though it seems pretty interesting while still being fair, which is the most important thing (to me).
Sonuva Brick!
https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/B713-0000-0247-607A
(Sonuva Brick! is updated on the first page, though ironically I could see Nintendo actually having a problem with that particular stage name unlike with either Trap Music stage.)
Undue praise aside, I honestly can’t really think of anything that would much benefit the “floating block combined with auto-scrolling” idea while also both being fair and appealing to your own platforming ideals, debs. Not having the game really doesn’t help on this matter.
Still, if you do want possible suggestions, then perhaps combing with the above idea with luring visible Thomps to fall and be stepping–well, technically, spin-jumping–stones as they sink into the lava. That’s really the only idea that I can think of that would be potentially fair outside of perhaps using music blocks as platforms as well, but I personally don’t like the music block idea just because they and trampolines can be really finicky to quite a few people. That or extensively using P-Switches, which seems a bit blasé. Shrug.
A friend from Twitter had levels that I decided to try out this week! Pretty interesting and was fun to play:
I really should do Mario Maker vids twice a week. I have a huge backlog of levels now lol.
Jumpman 4
18A2-0000-024C-99A1
I didn’t intend to make another Jumpman course so soon after the last one, but that’s just how it turned out. I try not to make the Jumpman courses overly difficult. These are courses I want to be fun but still have some degree of challenge to them. I know people view 1-ups as worthless in this game bu they come in handy when a courses is encountered during the Mario Challenge mode. Three one ups can be picked up in this stage, two via 1-up Mushroom, the third from collecting 100 coins. This level has exactly 101 coins.
Having spent hours, days, sometimes weeks on a course, this has made me wonder how much time Nintendo put into making the levels from our favorite 2D Mario games. It was something I’d never given any thought to until I started to make my own courses.
