It’s a very niche game, but clearly a work of passion from the devs.
Merry Christmas SRK SF story crew. Kage now has an entry in the Plot Guide. Thanks for all the help this year guys. Through the years it’s almost like the story thread has evolved its own story it’s good to see something like that. From humble beginnings of finding out the back storys of different SF characters to a full fledged community wishing everyone happy holidays every year and helping each other out. That’s pretty awesome if you ask me.
for SF6 I would like Capcom to add a encyclopedia like Guilty Gear Xrd has in game . this encyclopedia can be use for timelines , character backgrounds, to explain terms Like Ki, Psycho Power ,Soul Power ,satsui no hado , Mu no Ken and etc.
I’d like to see something like that too. Capcom sort of does this with the SF30th but they took the English versions of the profiles. When it finally came out in Japan Capcom just translated those originally English profiles. Even though they were all pretty in depth and detailed the canon consistency just isn’t mirrored to what’s actual being portrayed. Japanese CFN profiles are more in what’s in line with what’s being portrayed in current canon and it would be interesting if they added some of other source material from the older games. They obviously have the capabilities to do this.
They always seem to leave the finer details of the whole ki thing up to speculation to the readers over in the west, but it’s pretty well documented there over in the east in there source books. Basically here in the west we get a sense of the powers of SF from other series entirely something like DB or HnK for example. We don’t really get a sense of it from the actual games and when you do it’s only done subtly. Like take Kages story for example. They describe Kage as something divergent from Ryu and people get a sense that he’s a complete entity with a corporeal form. His story is against this because we find out that he’s more or less stuck in the subconscious. He can travel into others minds including Ryus own but he’s not truly something that’s separate from him. In DB you have characters who can use image training and it’s something that resembles exactly what’s being presented in SF with a few tweaks here and there.
If there is a SF6 story connected with current canon then it needs to be set beyond SF3 or maybe at least during it some how.
Eventscrub did an entire article about the fact Shinkiro did the ending art of kage LOL
Only thing they added is a wrong explanation about what Kage is… you got one job lol
Hopefully capcom release some new real info soon as possible, not sure i can survive a EH month of full “need news” retardness
Just seen it on fb page. We will know if Kage is a last minute change or Kage was planned a whole year by looking on the concept art. I really want to see more.
Only naive people think Kage was a last minute change.
As said many times will have preferred a much more “spectre” look to not left doubts on his nature (as well as NOT be evilryu), so i’m inclined to wish the first was the base
But thing is even the current design in concept it worked, it got a way more “spirit” aura than crap we got ingame.
the azure fire was more dominant an clumsy stuff like horns/fangs much more minimal than ingame, plus body NOT looking much bulkier than usual Ryu aside neck area
3d modellers fucked shit up once again lol
Im on mobile, like many that seen the fan art of kage and ryu, makes them think his SF4 alt should have been his default it makes him more like a oni along with fangs and horns.
I’ve had my Dean concept virtually done for a week. Can’t seem to finish up the last 5%
I like to think that whoever designed Urien was a fan of the Brazilian band Sarcófago, one of their best songs is titled Crush, Kill, Destroy. I mean, if you do Urien’s fireballs in order it’s the same as the song title. Crush. Kill. Destroy.

Played a bit with theyr sketch

You’re right, composer of all the SF3 games, Hideki Okugawa stated that back in 2nd impact’s release, his favourite music was Sarcofago, Swing Out Sista and Deep 505 Enigma and that he recently discovered Brazilian music and was a fan of Raï (a modern form of North African music), which really explains a lot of 2I’s OST like Urien’s and Elena’s and stated that Raï was the inspriation of the DS2 Demitri theme.
Very interesting. If that’s true that he’s a Sarcófago fan, that’s just awesome.
Is that from an interview? Do you have it?
