Strangely, most people don’t know about this - but any low attack has priority > Boxer’s headbutt. So after scoring a knockdown on Boxer, feel free to walk up and start your block string with cr.short.

EX headbutt has more priority so watch out for that.

Just use cr mk, if you mess up or time it right all version of headbutt will miss you or you’ll KD, its a great mixup and condition for them to not do anything on wakeup besides super or ultra. As a whiffed headbutt results in a punish.

Just EX is the only one that can possibly hit you, so learn when you should do it.

I haven’t received feedback from you guys (pun intended) about this new match up system, but I think it’ll work. It also achieves the main goal that I’ve wanted for a long time: everyone will be able to see the discussions and thought processes behind all of the match ups. If no one objects, I’ll start working on it this weekend (just in time for the AE DLC).

Oh, I’ll also try my best to restore all of the old links used in this thread and bring them into the new threads before this month is over. :tup:

Yea that could work but each match up thread would have to get updated every now and then so people would need to take charge of a specific match up, its too much work for one person to do everything imo.

It might be a good idea to make a thread just for ssf4 and link all the threads with ssf4 info over there so we don’t have the forum cluttered with new and old info. I dont know about others but I will not care about anything regarding ssf4 once AE is out so we can start similar threads for AE and carry over whatever info is valid from ssf4.

Well, each individual match up thread shouldn’t be more than a few pages long, so it shouldn’t be much of a hassle for people to read through each thread. That’s another reason why I wanted to have the match up threads like this: less frequent updates shouldn’t be a problem, since the threads are so small.

And yes, these threads would only be focused on the AE match ups.

We can try that I guess, I’d still like to know about character specific punishes, OS, frame traps, glitches. Once people know that then it’s much easier to see what the best way to fight a specific math up is. Anyways, lets get our hands on AE first and have some fun before worrying about this. Can’t wait to pound on Honda

I agree that its a great idea. Searching for information will be so much more efficient.

i’ll try and update the hitbox/combo thread as much as possible. but i need the images of the hitboxes for AE guy to be uploaded so i can download them. as for the combos i’ll just add anything that’s possible in AE that wasn’t already in super.

also i was thinking about adding videos like guy’s unblockable, the TK EX air throw vid, or any other tutorial-esque video to the thread. what do you guys think?

Keep the combo/hitbox thread only for that purpose … I think using some of the spoiler tags might make it a bit easier to read … and removing some of the unnecessary combos and ones that arent possible anymore…

We have a thread for CH/Frame traps … I say sticky a thread with OS/CH/Frame traps and other tutorial vids…

It’s good that we can embedd videos on srk now so with spoiler tags we can have info plus video demonstrations/tutorials. I wonder if they’ll release hitbox data for AE. I think they would since pc version is coming out.

Hello Guys, well finally got the long awaited Arcade Edition, Guy received good buffs, but I’m having great difficulty against Zangief! New SPD and Green Hand are killing me >.<! you have any tips for this Matchup?

whats the best way to handle feilong? I never could play that matchup all that well. the best I could do is stop his chicken wing. but it seems nowadays most feilongs I play turtle to the point where I just give up playing conservative and then they just bum rush me with cr.mp,cr.lp into rekka blockstrings. I get lucky time to time and stuff a rekka with st.mk but other than that lucky st.mk im getting bombarded by feilongs rushdown.

Stay right outside your slide (cr.rh) range… green hand is unsafe at that distance cause you get free bushin combo everytime. jump back and reset position if you get in trouble. matchup is about patience… play with jumping command elbow and quick bushin flips away from him and go for crossup if you feel he’s sleeping.

basically never let gief feel comfortable.

Therefore, if you are unwilling to update the first post of each thread (or you just don’t see yourself being on SRK often enough), please do not make the character specific thread.
