Lots of players hit the panic button once they realise there flowchart don’t work on you. It doesn’t really improve a whole lot in the higher ranks either sadly. People just learn more effective flowcharts.
The term flowchart means basically nothing. Autopilot is probably a better term for “bad” flowcharts.
But even autopilot is misleading.
Probably the hardest thing to do in fighting games is to make your moves smart and specific to the situation, consistently without repetition of tactics.
That’s really hard to do.
But not doing it is basically flowchart or autopilot.
There’s nothing wrong with having a gameplan and preferred routes into offensive. When someone talks about autopiloting I guess he refers to reproducing a very specific set of moves even when your opponent figured it out.
Having a plan doesn’t make you a bad player, reproducing it mechanically without changing it when it doesn’t work does.
P.S. someone on Steam reports that the load times mod glitches on the Lair of the Four Kings stage. I didn’t test it myself but be careful anyway.
Thing is, I’m not even sure half of them count as flowcharts, because they would be one or two steps at most. They just backdash or jump back. I don’t even have to break them mentally, they come pre-broken the moment they see a giant Russian flexing on the versus screen. This is so much easier than playing Bison, because Bison actually has to earn respect.
Also, why the fuck does Gief still get a 50/50 off his V-Reversal? Even I think that seems kind of unfair, especially since they removed everyone else’s ability to get oki off theirs.
You’re being pedantic on the damage thing. Yes it changed indirectly because of the dp motion change on Screw smash. But honestly his damage in S1 was higher than anyone except Birdie and maybe Gief. People just didn’t care because he was easier to block because 2mk wasn’t a low, and you didn’t care about his frame traps because 90% of people were playing Ken, Necalli, Ryu or Cammy.
And Laura really did not receive all these “broken” buffs.
The thing I don’t get is why a lot of people told those unhappy with S1 Ken, Chun, Necalli, Ryu etc. " git gud", “adapt”, and bait. But now the game’s broken and needs to be fixed. What changed the correct approach method?
