The Street Fighter V Lounge: We all gotta chill 'til the end of April

Agreed except I don’t see the need for Urien’s cr.MK to be nerfed to -3 oB. I think your proposed health nerf and EX tackle nerf would be plenty.

edit: oh also I think Rog’s V-skill shouldn’t shut down fireball characters as hard as it currently does. I think they should either a( rework it to be more useful against non-fireball users but less dominant vs fireballs or b( straight up nerf it but then give him a new or improved tool to help with his bad m/us. the aim being to even out his matchups without actually making him worse overall.

Word.

Naw, not on the back foot. Before he even gets near you. Think about how he gets in. He almost always gets in with a jump or a dash or v-skill. Plenty of characters that have normals that straight up stuff almost everything he has. But people aren’t willing to risk it at all.

Sure when he has ex. meter he’s scarier, yet even his ex. straight can be stuffed.

I’m not saying that’s all you do, for chrisakes and of course you have to be ready to block low for his ex. dash low, but stuffing his v-skill and dash straight is enough to make them rethink and that’s all you need, is to make them rethink barreling in, to give you space to take a turn.

I then abuse him on wake-up as much as possible.

Cr.mk -3 because it should be used outside ranges where lights can punish it, Urien already has cr.lk for those situations. It’s more a hard deterrent than anthing else to not use it too close.

It should ATLEAST be negative on block honestly.

The only thing urien needs is the health change nerf. And aegis which is where most of his cheese is needs to be 2 hits.

Ex tackle is some git gud shit. Requires charge and meter are more than enough. The ONLY thing you might do to ex tackle is make it not cancel into aegis.

Maybe.

But I’d need urien to win a major or something before I start thinking about really nerfing him.

Rog seems fine save for 2 things:

His st.hk being plus 3 on block seems a bit much. +1 or +0 imho

And his v trigger damage could use a SLIGHT toning down. Yeah it’s huge, but he has no fireball, or dp or wakeup game and some stubby normals.

The only other thing I could really think to do to him would be maybe slightly reducing the range on his L dash punch.

Mostly other characters need to be buffed and people need to go in on Laura and rog since they have no reversals.

If urien is gonna have all that bullshit, 900 health.

Otherwise he needs to lose some of his nonsense. Probably his crush counter on standing fierce since all it does is make it impossible to play footsies with him. #SALT

Am I the only person that has experimented with purposely jumping away from Urien when at mid-screen against ex.tackle?

He runs right into your jump away hk and you can combo off of it.

At least with Bison it works.

Neutral jumping/back jumping charge character body hurl specials is like anti charge character 101. I’m always neutral jumping/back jumping against them.

I’ve won entire rounds just neutral jumping on one Bison scissor kick or Rog dash punch.

Puff-puff, give.

Puff-puff, give.

You’re fuckin’ up the rotation.

Go to 50 seconds in to see Balrog on wake up:

Good night gents, keep it classy.

…jumping? From ex tackle? Naw that is impossible, dunno bout you magicians but I’m petitioning for urien to get 750 hp, its the least capcom could do for skilled players such as myself, id win every match if capcom just nerfed everything I cant deal with.

-Back Jump
-Get hit with Ex Tackle anyway

-NJ
-Get hit with regular Tackle anyway

-NJ on their wake up instead
-Get hit with Ex/Tackle anyway

me: 'Ryu should be buffed’
Dime: ‘Ryu is fine, the problem is that other characters get around fireballs too easily’

me: 'Rog’s V-skill lets him get around fireballs too easily’
Dime: ‘Rog is fine, it’s just other characters that need to be buffed’

:coffee:

I was referencing those things that people were bringing up. Rogs v skill can still be taken a look at. Idk why anyone would think that would totally be taken off the table.

I’m not going to rehash everything every post especially when not referring to specific character but instead specific machanics related to said characters.

you didn’t list V-skill in your suggested nerfs, so I thought you were excluding that idea. mainly I just was looking for an excuse to use :coffee: < emote though.

:coffee:

I really would prefer buffing fireball characters over nerfing Rog’s V-skill, if that were feasible. I just don’t see it happening given the game’s balance constraints. Rog VS is such a strong anti-fireball move that if you buff other characters’ fireballs to be able to deal with it, those characters suddenly become oppressive against anybody who is weak to fireballs (see: guile vs chun)

Man I ain’t even hit that shit yet. Y’all got me up in here scavenging off your shitty topics:

this is a fucking joke right?
if you look at the patch notes
everyone got maximum of maybe 5-6 buffs and some 2-4 nerfs to go along with it
balrog got hit with a dmg nerf on his throw and i shit you not like 20 fucking buffs
anyone who thinks balrog is not as strong or as different from his s1 self is a fucking moron

Real shit. So y’all have been PUNISHING majority of Urien’s Tackles by…back and neutral jumping?

Playing some stupid fucking Uriens me thinks.

Please elaborate on this. Also tell us who your main is then give an example of baiting his EX Tackle on wake up with said character.

it works well with dhalsim against people who don’t know the matchup. float slowly to the ground to make yourself appear vulnerable, then teleport behind their ass when you see the yellow flash.

I just do this thing called blocking… it tends to work and make urien waste a meter.

Then I press my jab and trade or beat uriens jab after blocking the ex tackle. Or if urien does ex headbutt depending on my jab I may block him or get hit by ex headbutt… which at that point becomes 2 meters to do 80 damage plus a shit followup.

Winning? Well it works for me.

I did.
