So, for those that watched the Vesper video, who would be for a repackaged re-release of SFV, not necessarily calling it Super SFV, but just something along the lines of what Vesper mentioned?

I agree with him, not enough people know about all the aspects of the game that have been fixed, the story mode or the new characters.

I agree and have been saying they should do this for months. Hopefully they’re working on a massive “Super” - esque level update to the game with new CAs, Triggers, Vskills, arcade mode, reduced input lag etc. etc.

Put all this stuff out on a new disc and call it SFV: Round 2, SFV: Left Behind Edition, whatever. Anything besides Super Street Fighter V so we don’t get another faux outrage. The new disc is essential because it gets you another round of reviews (hopefully great reviews) at IGN, Gamespot, etc. Casuals need to be told what to buy so the exposure at these sites would be key.

Capcom just needs to hope the angry beehive that comes out to attack SFV every 2 weeks doesn’t do it for “SSFV” as well. Though if the re-release is actually a good product, I’m confident the majority will tell the complainers to stfu and all will be good lol.

Or, do it like Skullgirls: 2nd Encore. New title, old release, improved game.

While I’d like second CA’s, some of them have so short animations that they’re not that hype anymore, or worse, have cinematics before the active frames. As in “He’s trying to chip you out! DOOOOODGE!”.

Cinematics should play on the last frame of the startup IMO.

I highly doubt it is happening at all as much as this game needs an overhaul. Capcom will slowly drip feed us content and very few solutions as always. :feelsbad:

I think Capcom is in a spot where it’d be the right move to support SFV and make it a good product. They may have franchises that are more successful (Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, and soon Marvel vs Capcom Infinite) but it’s still in their best interest to keep the Street Fighter brand strong as a 4th option. There will come a time where they want to put out a Street Fighter 6, but they need to get goodwill back with SFV first. They might not have a lot of money to play with, but they should have enough money to support their core franchises.

edit: to add to that, SF is the fighting series that it entirely theirs. Marvel vs Capcom will be payday, but they don’t own the Marvel rights. They need to keep SF strong incase Marvel decides to end their business partnership again.

• 30th Anniversary for SF this year
• The gap between SF4 arcade (2008) and SSF4 (2010) was two years. If that’s what it takes to release a new version of the game, we should be getting that either this Q4 2017 or Q1 2018. Probably December or January so as not to step on Marvel vs Capcom’s release window.
• Arcade Version coming to Japan (and Evo Japan in 2018). Would be the right timing to re-release a reworked SFV.
• Haters Left Behind guy talking smack on Twitter. I don’t think he’d say what he said unless there was some nice stuff planned for 2017/2018.
