I took the journey from 0 to 3700lp with Dhalsim before switching to Juri.
Iâve now made the climb to 3800 and back to under 2000 twice. Itâs a combination of match up knowledge and bad matchups. I just happened to meet the same 2 Giefs and Rashids over and over again. They sucked the points but it got closer as the matches got more frequent.
At least I have things to work on now though.
Never had such a struggle in a fighter before
You know, I was playing a bit in the battle lounge mode today. I had 5 FT3 sets against this French Ryu player. He was around 4000LP I think. During the first couple of games i noticed that he was quite good. He had good fireball patterns, nice oki, very good reversal timing and generally he was playing relatively solid. He had the jump back OS thing and had nice reactions on mixups.
Then i started to notice that this dude sweeps so much. There werenât a single round where he wasnât getting punished at least once for using that unsafe sweep. I started with Guile then Cammy then Laura, Chun then Mika.
It was amazing to me that he kept doing sweep over and over and over despite it being the key to his loss almost every time. It was such a weird thing to me. I ended up winning 15 games and he took 2 games from 5 sets.
The guy is a fine player, i could see him easily doing so much better if he didnât insist on doing something that is quite frankly stupid. I donât know if it is him not realizing it or if it is just a bad habit.
stHK and bHK saves lives. Like I said sometimes youâll have to play a SF4 Juri which means using fireballs at the bait so you can DP them if they jump. Once youâve trained your opponent not to jump you can then start following up your fireballs from the groundâŚit doesnât take more than 2 sets to train your opponent unless youâre playing shitters
