I know most of you were just echoing the sentiment of some pro player because he must know what he’s talking about but it’s pretty funny how people wrote him off on this site after a week because duh duh cr mk sucks.
Every character is low tier until he/she wins a tournament. Then it becomes top tier.
Now that Capcom has completed their Hype Drawing Characters. We can start booger picking in Oro, C. Viper, Adult Sakura who can’t Fireball, Tatsu or Shoryuken anymore because she’s pregnant, and that one Black Guy who borrowed your Sega Genesis.

Looking forward to the new stage more than Akuma himself.
…not because I don’t like Akuma, but because I don’t trust Capcom to do the character justice. There’s no way Akuma will survive Honest Fighter V intact. Though I’d love to be proven wrong.
I thought he was weaker at first because the risk-reward isn’t exactly in his favor. He’s basically swatting people for meh damage and can’t really do a lot of damage himself outside of corner V-trigger.
But as always I underestimate the potency of even Rushdown Fighter V zoning.
Idk people pretty much knew who was good at release, balrog and Urien both were lauded out the gate as good characters for what they were. Guile was trashed though by 90% of the people out there.
He just took longer to materialize and folks just couldn’t accept a character in SFV not being figured out in a week.
Guile was one of the characters you lose to online and never talk about.
I knew his potential because I was getting my ass handed to me like a week after Chris G’s video. People started pressing more buttons after that.

I think people simply underestimated Guile’s zoning power only because booms are more jumpable than before and you can’t throw FKs freely anymore. Du has proven not only that you can AA consistently with him either through FKs or his array of AAs (he’s probably the only Guile that makes some use of st. MK), but that his fireball game is downright scary when you know how to mix up all the options he has. He can go from multi-hitting slow booms to sonic speed EX fireballs in a blink and totally control the pace of the game.
Surely he doesn’t have a lot of burst damage, but when you add up all those small hits it end up draining your lifebar.
I dunno, after all Urien can be considered pretty “broken” from their standards. But he might still end up like Ibuki…

Akuma is the answer on those 1.4 milion copies of SFV. I’m ok with it,dealing with the demon is one of the funniest things for me as a SF player since '94. Newbies deserves to enjoy the feeling, they’re like the actual NBA generation of players,soft like shit.
