Oh, no Akuma is cool, even if he is just another shoto, it’s Akuma, he always makes things interesting. But Abel? He might as well just be a guard with a helmet waiting outside a shadoloo base with a troubled past… characters like Makoto absolutely need to come before Abel. Sorry if I sound super objective, don’t mean to be an asshole, it’s just that Abel is that type of character that some people want, and that a few people will actually play.
By the way, Melee with the case and booklet is going for 60+ dollars on ebay now, what the heck? o_O Even disc only is worth 40 bucks now, guess the game is getting rare, and the demand is going up.
I could already see Abel being R Mika mark ii if he was in the game - Tornado throw - Roll - Elbow crush counter ( plus 15 on block) - Roll - Tornado throw…
That applies for almost every character outside of a few. Remember the hype behind Alex, how he was everyone’s main since they played him in SF1? Honestly, other than Akuma (unfortunately) I can’t think of any character that would get a significant amount of representation (like Ryu / Ken level) from players. People want Makoto but only 3 guys will ever play her. People want Q but only one guy will end up playing him.
Not that this means these characters shouldn’t be included, I just mean to say it’s a poor argument to rule out Abel.
I would like if you could not activate vt on your own. For example, akuma’s vt would be shin gouki (the best character in game), but you would transform only if thrown or hit with invincible move or special/fireball.
So, you would have to play wout those, in order not to be raped.
Well, now that Akuma is in, let’s just hope he’s not one of those characters that heavily relies on V trigger to be good. We have enough of those comeback characters already.
