The Street Fighter V Lounge: Tron Bonne rumored as DLC

For the most part, yes, but that still earned them a valuable spot in your AA arsenal. Plus you could OS parry behind them if you weren’t sure what the opponent would do and you’d be reasonably safe regardless of what option your opponent picked, at the cost of your AA being fairly low reward.
They weren’t all-purpose AA in 3S, that is true though.

Please make crouch MP cancelable in Claw then make standing and crouching MK cancelable like the old games. Make st.HK able to hit crouching opponents because motherfuck Rashid. Crouching MK being cancelable will allow Vega to EX FBA opponents at distances clawless st.MP would not reach. Crouch MP being cancelable in Claw would open up so many opportunities for Vega. As of right now clawless c.MP is a 6 frame normal that is even on block that can’t be canceled into anything. It’s just a good poke…that’s it. But you have other characters poking you with their c.MP’s and getting huge damage conversions.

Those three changes would make me completely satisfied with Vega. I don’t need an invincible reversal or CA.

Ok guys, here’s how the Capcom Pro Tour season looks after EU RegFinals and SoCal Regionals 2016

First up, one of the weekend’s CPT events were the European Regional Finals, held at Milan Games Week in Italy. This was a first of its kind event in the history of Capcom Pro Tour and one of the additions to the Season structure Capcom brought this year.

14 players fought for qualification throughout the year, scoring their spots in the Finals, while the last 2 players got in via the Last Chance qualifier held the day before (those 2 being Sako and Bonchan). After several hours worth of amazing matches, Daigo comes out on top and takes 1st place at this event, thus earning an automatic qualification for Capcom Cup, joining Infiltration, Tokido, Xiaohai, Momochi, GamerBee, and Phenom

It’s worth noting that even if Daigo lost to Phenom in the Grand Finals - he would qualify regardless, since if the winner of Regional Finals has already qualified previously, the qualification spot is given to the second highest ranking player at the event, but it was still nice to see Daigo coming out on top.

Bear in mind that no CPT points were rewarded at this event, so neither Global nor Regional rankings of either player have changed

Next - SoCal Regionals, one of the last two Premier events in thsi entire Season. As usual, the Standings and qualification spots took quite a hit this weekend, so let’s take a look at that:

  • Xiaohai takes 1st place, scoring 256 CPT points and lands on the 6th place on the Global leaderboards. This is his second Premier event victory this season, which means he opened another Global qualification spot

  • Thanks to Infiltration, GamerBee, Tokido, and now Xiaohai, the total number of players that can qualify via Global leaderboards has increased from 8 to 13, and unless someone who won a Premier event already takes 1st place at Canada Cup - this number shall remain unchanged

  • Haitani takes 2nd place and earns 128 CPT Points, which brings him up to the 12th place on the Global leaderboards. With his total of 492 points, he is now pretty much guaranteed to get into Capcom Cup via Global points

  • K-Brad breaks into Top-3, scoring 3rd place at earning 64 CPT Points, which brings his total to 328 points. He lands 70 points behind CCL, who currently has the least amount of points among those qualified into Capcom Cup via Global leaderboards. Unless he manages to get 2nd place at Canada Cup - his only hope of getting into Capcom Cup will be via European Regional Leaderboards or the Regional Finals

  • Although Mago finished 4th and only earned 32 CPT Points, it was just enough to secure him a spot in Capcom Cup via Global leaderboards, on which he now resides at 17th place with a total of 426 points. This is especially important because just a week ago he was barely outside the qualification via Global points, even though he had a guaranteed spot via Asian Regional leaderboards. At this point there’s very little chance he’s getting kicked out, so I’m happy to see him at Capcom Cup in December

  • Everybody else who landed below Mago in the SCR’s Top-16 pretty much has their Global ranking unaffected. NuckleDu still sits at 7th place on the leaderboards below Justin Wong and Fuudo but above everybody else, so his final seeding in the Capcom Cup brackets shouldn’t be too bad.

  • Nuki, despite his finish in the Top-8 at SCR 2016, is still at the bottom of the Global leaderboards, currently sitting at 49th place with a total of 92 CPT Points, so if he wants to get into Capcom Cup - his only chances are the remaining Regional Finals in NA, Asia or LATAM. PR Balrog and Xyzzy sadly don’t really earn anything from this tournament and are nowhere close to getting into Capcom Cup via points. Basically same case as Nuki, and Regional Finals are their only remaining option.

  • Chris Tatarian had a chance of improving his Global Leadeboards spot (since he was mere ~20 points behind CCL), but his finish at 9th place doesn’t give him enough of a boost (he only earned 4 CPT Points from that), which still puts him outside those who are qualified via Global points. However, there’s still Canada Cup which he can attend, and he is qualified for Regional Finals in North America and Latin America, so luckily he still has at least 3 options of getting into Capcom Cup

  • This also means that both Filipino Champ and CCL (who have 398 and 397 Global points, respectively) need to place high enough at Canada Cup so that their qualification spots aren’t at stake. Otherwise, FChamp will have to qualify via NA or LATAM Regional Finals, and CCL will have to qualify via European Regional Leaderboards (unless he also goes to one of the Regional Finals)

  • Also worth noting that in case if CCL drops out of the group of players that qualify into Capcom Cup via Global leaderboards, he will qualify via European Regional leaderboards, taking a spot from Problem X, who is currently qualified that way alongside Mister Crimson. If that happens - Problem X will have no means of qualifying other than winning Regional Finals in another region, and depending on how things turn out, he might lose his spot permanently

  • Because Mago and Haitani have ascended high enough up in the Global leaderboards, this means that they are no longer being accounted for on the Asian Regional Leaderboards, which means that right now Kazunoko and Tse4444 qualify into Capcom Cup via points. However, because Tse4444 has only won one Ranking event in this entire season (that being the Yangcheng Cup) - he only has a total of 128 CPT Points, and his qualification spot is under a major threat of being taken away by another player

  • Yukadon, Saunic, Xiaohu, and MindRPG currently have enough points that even if either one of them finishes at least 2nd at FV Cup or Online Asian Ranking Event #2, they will earn enough points to overtake Tse4444 and get into Capcom Cup. The only question remaining is which one of them can accomplish this. Thankfully, Tse4444 is also qualified for Asian Regional Finals, so even if he does get kicked out of Top-2 scoring players in the region - he will still have a chance of qualifying

  • Lastly, while I’m on topic of Asian region: Itabashi Zangief is the only player who is qualified for Asian Regional Finals but not currently in the Capcom Cup. Unless he takes 1st place at NA, LATAM, or Asian Regional Finals, or wins Canada Cup - he, sadly, will not qualify for Capcom Cup and will have to skip this year’s Season Finale

While I don’t play Vega myself, my best friend do and we play all the freaking time so i am pretty familiar with him.

I don’t agree with cancel-able cr.MP in claw stance and his cr.MK being that as well. The idea behind Vega was always to have superior pokes in claw stances and good comboabilty in BH stance. I will say they should improve his pokes in claw stance to make it more desirable but increasing the comboability isn’t the way to go.

Crouching medium kick is a plus on block low medium. I am not sure if any character have that and am not sure if you realize how amazing that is as a tool to have for up close pressure. Having that plus the best walkspeed in the game AND a really freaking good range on his EX command throw makes his pressure game very nice in my opinion.

I don’t think what you are saying is his main issues as a character. His only problem is getting raped in the corner, but even then his V-trigger is a decent corner escape option.

The buff i would give to Vega is to make one of his V-reversal go to through his opponents like FANG’s for example. That is the only thing he really needs in my opinion and some buffs to his buttons hitboxes/hurtboxes in claw stance.

I thought Cr.MK was only +1 it is actually +2. Being +2 on block and cancelable would be a bit much. However, clawed cr.MP should def be cancelable. His lack of cancels is why I prefer to go clawless 90% of the time. The only matchup I have found myself to prefer the claw is Ryu and maybe, MAYBE Mika.

While the pokes in Claw are good, the damage is not. Characters like Cammy, Chun-Li, Ryu, Ken and Karin will pay back anything I do tenfold in one tenth of the time it took me to do it to them. This is all while having superior buttons, frame advantage, anti airs etc. My opponents would fear me a lot more if that clawed cr.MP canceled into HK crimson terror.

I feel that if Cr Hp functioned better as an anti-air, then the upsides of claw mode would be much more apparent. However it seems to be a similar theme with most characters not having access to a good normal anti air that isn’t a jab. If Cr Hp was a good anti-air, then claw mode would be great for playing an annoying, fast, poke-orientated game. Which is what I feel they were going for with claw stance.

Cr.HP is actually a good anti-air…in clawless.

yo whiffing crush counter buttons at max range is so good yo i can’t even front.

Problem is not getting raped in the corner, that’s just his design. The real problem is that he has such a weakness and nothing really stands out to make up for it.

There are at least 5 characters with better offense than him(in claw off mode), with way better defense, which doesn’t make sense at all to me.

I’m thinking about dropping Vega for Urien. Vega is not a good character in this game.

Also lol

You’re not dropping Vega.

Stop it, slime.

What are Vega’s weaknesses?

vega has maybe like one or two weakenesses imo he don’t have a good wake up option imo lacks offense etc

Vegas weaknesses?
Bad anti-airs, no wakeup game.

  1. Mediocre anti-airs
  2. Absolutely helpless when cornered
  3. No invincible reversal or invincible super
  4. His sole crush counter button whiffs on crouchers (which means you can’t CC Karin’s EX Ressenha and have to use CH St.HP instead)
  5. The things he does well are done better by other characters who do not share the first 4 weaknesses.
  6. Vega will literally lose access to half his moveset if he takes too much damage (can’t pick the claw back up)
  7. If Vega loses his mask he takes 10% more damage. You’re already close to death when you lose the mask. In most cases you just die faster.

Note: In reference to #7 you also deal 10% more damage which allows for comeback potential. So, once Vega loses his mask both players take an additional 10% damage.

I loled at Snake Eyez
"yeah we need less events"
“more points should be given to 3rd to 7th place”
"players who travel should be rewarded"
Snake Eyez: “BUFF GIEF PLS”

About 5.: isn’t the ‘thing he does well’ his mobility? No character in the game has the same amount of ground and air mobility. Rashid comes close but he always moves in pre-determined arcs while Vega can more or less freely control his movement in the air. That’s always been his thing and that’s why they keep giving him awful defensive options since SFIV. Because if you get cornered as Vega, you simply deserve it.

>People have problems with how the CPT works
>Snake Eyez
PLEASE BUFF GIEF PLEASE!!!

Smh

damn the downplay of vega now

Fuck that I like the idea that only top 3 is given a ton of points.

I NEVER liked this “top 8 are all equal and great” mentally that has become more popular. Players who travel are rewarded by more opportunities for success than those who don’t.

The current system of top 3 or bust is AMAZING because it basically removes collusion from the CPT. Mid tier players can no longer sneak their way in because their friends helped them out.

Awarding more points to top 8 or god forbid top 16 just allows for collusion to become viable again when currently it isn’t. Unless your friend is truly elite they won’t make it to top 3 anyway so losing to them on purpose is a silly gamble
