This argument is like Vegeta trying to convince Goku Final Flash is a better move than his

LoyalSol: I really believe Ken can have his troubles in the matchup vs Vega. If you use Dantarion’s hit box collision checker you can research and visually see that there are a lot of Vega to Ken interactions where Vega virtually wins. Unless my Ken can play a strong neutral where he never jumps and slowly pushes Vega to to the corner, I have to play very modestly.
Evil Canadian: I believe your analysis has strong points, although there are some glaring faults. Ken’s s.HK is a lot harder to whiff punish than you are supposing. Especially in the heat of battle with the threat of crush counter into heavy damage. It forces us Vega players to be a bit more respectful. On top of that Vega’s anti air game is rather suspect and once you get a ken that starts going yolo with the air tatsus that can be an issue. I also don’t have a reversal vs a character as offensively powerful as Ken.
Veserius: You’ll have to excuse me as I will add a bit of conjecture during this. Just wanted to point out that Vega’s j.MK can stop a lot of the normal jump angles for Ken. I don’t think you all are great at the game so I just wanted to throw this out there to help build insight and slightly stronger players out of you.
**LoyalSol: Ok, great thanks! I will say Evil Canadian that yes Ken’s air game can be an issue if you aren’t great with all of your options. Vega should actually be small enough to duck under the air tatsu options and EX tatsu you can just wait to block and burns a meter any way. Think of it like waiting out Bison’s EX DR’s.
**
Evil Canadian: This is interesting. I will have to experiment with this. I like that you posted specific videos to look over. I can clearly see Ken’s feet barely grazing Vega’s beautful hair and Vega still being safe with maybe even a punish opportunity. I still feel this matchup can be a struggle, but I see the options.
LoyalSol: Yes, there will be a definitely struggle for Ken as well, but you are right in that if I get my momentum going I can make it not so bad.
Evil Canadian: I guess we could call this a 5 5 matchup and base it on Vega’s neutral vs Ken’s momentum evening things out.
LoyalSol: Correct. Although I loathe Vega and think everything about the character is rather cheap and egregious, I will hold that shit for a second and concede that over time I will see this matchup and the character as more honest.
EvilCanadian: Yeah I love Vega. Ok this was fun have a great day.
Loyal Sol: You too Evil!
I read all of this out of respect of the OG. And I suggest you read it too.

I’m done for now, but I’d be happy to carve you and your brain so you can finally realize how disgustingly terrible Lords of Shadow is another time.

Makes sense since SF4 is the better game.
When Akuma comes out in Season 3, we will reign hell on the R. Mika and Chun-Li sub forums. Yeah, I said this pre-Juri release but…wow look at the time…got to go :^)
Dude, Combo didn’t quit. Capcom was hiring an assistant for Mahvel 4. The plot thickens.

btw @willseless next time you’re curious about somebody’s frame advantage after a certain knockdown learn how to use ToolAssisted’s oki calc (https://toolassisted.github.io/OKI/#URN/60/11/11/1,0,0,0,/1,0,0,0,/1,0,0,0,/1,0,0,0,/1,0,0,0,/1,0,0,0,/1,0,0,0,/ ) it will save you a TON of training mode time
Went to that site but still have no fucking idea about how that shit works. The tutorial seems to be inaccessible. Care to do a quick tutorial yourself?

Highlandfireball:
Get’s nothing from throw if he dashes ( he does if he doesnt move) - he’s between plus 4-6 on the Dp from memory but you’ll beat the meaty if you back rise.
Click the link in my signature - there’s a video - Episode 2 - the meaty game - It has all of Ryu’s common meaty set ups after each scenario but if you can’t be bothered to watch -
Meaty’s after every tatsu
Meaty’s after EX fireball
Meaty’s after DP
Meaty’s after sweep
No meaty’s after either throw ( bar solar plexus or a manually timed meaty from where he threw you)
A lot of meaties negated if you back rise ( DP, EX fireball, Throw, Sweep - spacing dependant)
More info that will help you -
Always press something after a blocked solar plexus ( they might Dp, but this is scrubby)
Always press something after a blocked axe kick because he’s going to use st.lk which is 4 frames - at worst you’ll probably trade
Don’t press anything after a blocked cr.mp
Highlandfireballs top tip that nobody seems to do unless you’re an old school player -
Neutral jump the fireballs - only one fireball can exist on the screen at any given time - neutral jumping allows the fireball to remain on the screen longer ( thus giving you more frame advantage to move forward when you land) than if you let it dissipate on your block ( putting you negative for a short period). A lot of Ryu players will zone with the LP fireball as it’s got the best data, but the slowness means it’s a bonus for you if you do neutral jump.
Neutral jump …move forward… repeat til in range of fireball start up box - press shit.
Lesson over - my shit is finished and I have to wipe my ass now - approaching dryness.
Thanks. I’ll put it to work tomorrow. But I fucking bet my left hand that the first time I’ll try punishing a dash, the Ryu will do dash shoryuken. It’s fate.
That axe kick was the bane of my existence yesterday. I would see him whiff, I would try to take my turn with a medium, and get CC sweeped every single time. It wouldn’t happen if I learned though. I blame it on the fact that most of his shit looks like it shouldn’t happen, so you try the same thing because he was lucky the other time. But Ryu is always lucky.
Which character do you play?
@Hawkingbird 's defense is insane. I’d have better luck opening a bank vault.
@Trife88 whats that avatar from, I like it.
@Twinblades
We got a lobby. Will invite once this set is over
