This is not the only conclusion you could reach with the data we have.
Maybe pc fighting games… just kinda suck, or are out of date, or lack netplay, or the other various factors you could attribute to the low growth of them as a platform.
SFV have NEGATIVE growth compared to USF4, and it’s very very reasonable to see why.
Tekken doesn’t come out on PC
Melty Blood couldn’t be bought on Steam for like 4-5 years after it came out.
Under Night came out 3 months ago on Steam… a version behind on a version that had been out for over a year in arcade.
MKX is a shitshow on PC
Xrd is an entire main version behind, as is BB.
Maybe those have more to do with the “demand” than the ephemeral notion that PC players just don’t want to play fighting games?
Both Revelator and KOF14 on consoles have sold way less than SF5 and people state here that after a few months it has become hard to find games online on console. If people were so thirsty of fighting games wouldn’t they both have better sales and growth expectations since they are considered as much superior to SF5?
PS4 is shittier than most modern PCs (as evidence by the fact many PS4 people play on training stage to avoid frame drops) and you can lag switch both on console and on PC.
PS4 being inferior to an Ultra end PC doesn’t mean anything. That’s common knowledge.
People play SFV with shit PCs, that’s why every other PC player fucks up the game, and lagging the game takes 20 seconds to setup.
So playing on a shitty console is fine but shit PCs is haram? Eh. Guess I’ll just take something to avoid falling asleep while waiting for my opponent’s PS4 to load the match.
And the system performance only affects loading times anyway, only EXTREMELY underpowered PCs can add some rollback… but this usually means it’s a slideshow on their side too.
As a matter of fact, most PC players I fought load insanely faster than any PS4 player. The people playing on bad PCs are surely a minority as they can barely even play on training stage without heavy modding.
its inferior to a “normal” pc…you can play sfV on shit pc´s when you scale down the stuff.
i doubt there are many people who dont manage to get theire 60fps while going online.
SFV is the only fighting game I’ve ever played where even when your characters are literally overlapping one another your normal still has a high chance of whiffing.
I played against this Birdie. He is random as fuck. The first time I played all he did was slide. I found that not giving in to his Tom foolery is the best way to beat him.
Man, fuck you guys, one day all there will be is PC, and then you’ll be sorry. Call me back when they release a console that’s on the same level as the Playstation 2, Dreamcast, or even the 360.
