I remember back in the SF4 PC golden days when it had GFWL (yes GFWL) the netcode was way better than the 360 version, and the player base was so nice, had zero trouble finding matches contrary to what console players might think, only if you were there, you remember, you remember it damn well, PC was the shit. Sigh*
Honestly, I never had trouble finding matches on SF4 PC, it was my go to game at 3AM.
I would argue itâs because unless you know what youâre doing, a gaming PC is harder and more expensive to build. If I go and just buy a pre-built box, it will most likely be more expensive than a PS4 and have some shit I donât want and/or need in there. That has always been the draw of a gaming console. Less hassle and cheaper to get. Now, if you knew what you were doing, where to look and already had stuff like monitors, keyboard, mouse and speakers, you could probably assemble a gaming PC that kicks the ass of a PS4 for around the same price. But that would mean looking for parts and assembling it yourself, and some people donât want to do that, which I respect. Valve tried to experiment with the Steambox to mitigate the issue, but PC is a trickier platform since specs vary so wildly and you will have to start replacing components eventually. Just look at how many games end up fucked with specific graphics cards, for example.
The issue right now is that consoles are moving more and more in the PC direction with new, more powerful versions coming out to fuck with the advantage of âeveryone has the same hardware and the same performanceâ aspect, as well as the fact that the graphics race has gimped performance in terms of FPS and consistency, particularly with PC versions getting fucked so the console ones wonât look like ass in comparison. If youâre going to try to sell a console based on performance, youâre suddenly stuck with the PC elephant in the room looking a million times better while running at four times the framerate in 4K.
This thread I always a good comedy source.
It always goes to circle jerking about sfv to how bad sfv is to speaking nonsense about other games because they are not sf.
Also, dunno why anyone bothers to have discussion with that ocean whatever idiot.
Devs donât give a shit about how expensive a gaming PC is. However, they care about how much time and money consuming it is to develop a port that has to be optimized to work on a bazillion of different PC configurations.
When you do a game for PS4, you know every single PS4 will run the game the same way. This is not guaranteed on PC and you need good coding and a very flexible engine to grant the best performances on most systems. Even if you post minimum specs people will still try to run the game on toasters. This is why PC needs demos and benchmarks and consoles need none.
On top of that, PC players are usually much more demanding than console players, either because they have better knowledge of what their machine is capable of or because Steam made them used to buy games at heavily discounted prices. Not to mention that there are usually ways to play many games for freeâŚ
By now, the only reason why FG developers donât hold PC in high regard is that they are mostly Japanese and their PC market is very small. Nonetheless, the number of fighting games released on Steam keeps increasing and we can only hope that in the future others will follow SF5 in releasing PC & console versions at the same time with cross-play between them.
someone brought that topic up in a other forum and i wonder how you guys would react.
lets say they bring out 2 new chars this yearâŚwould you be pissed when they are not included in the 2016 season pass so that you have to buy them either via fm or real money seperate?
its missing a lot of content and mentions just the 6 whe know ofâŚ
