It’s funny, I kind of consider locals the “real” tournaments. Twitch spectators kind of get a distorted view of the fgc. I mean I love majors, but I can only go to one or two a year now that the Midwest has dried up.

I go up to FGC “celebs” all the time and just bullshit with them. They’re players, not models. I see people coming up to them asking to autograph sticks. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL. Come on, man. These guys are all just regular dudes. Let’s not fill up their egos.

The only people I will be okay being treated as celebrities are the Cannons (fucking obv), Jebailey (also obv), and Big E (because that guy for as big as he is loves to just be a clown and talks to you like he’s known you forever).

I mean this post because of Twitch spectators. They worship players and I find that creepy. I get that it’s the same as people loving an athlete, but I don’t think it’s even remotely on the same level. This is from a guy who has been in this scene for 16 years and seen players come and go.

I don’t treat real celebs as celebs when i see them. I’ve seen or met a lot of famous people. They’re just people.

Weirdest encounter was with former Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns DT Shaun Rogers. I was at a smaller club in the suburbs. I go to the bathroom. He walks in. I recognize him so I nod, finish my piss, walk to the sink. He nods back. Pisses. Walks back out without washing his hands. I walk out after. See him shaking some other dudes hand.

Shaun Rogers dick handed that guy.
