I was about to write something about how you American scrubs should just embrace GMT and avoid any forms of confusion on the timezone-front ever again.
Then I remembered that North America still uses imperial measurement units rather than actually sensible units.
Sigh.
This can’t be right. MKX and its army of casuals were supposed to prop up the FGC on their backs, bringing in waves of new blood thanks to story mode and a “complete game”. IT OUTSOLD SF5 FIVE FOLD. Casuals flocked to it…r-right? Now it’s curtain jerking like Kaz Hayashi on WCW Thunder? And, SF5 is still headlining with 4000+ entrants? I thought SF5 was dead! Is this politics? Is Kevin Nash holding MKX down, and helping his buddy SF5 into the main event slot?
Can we real talk right now? What are you guys expecting from the cinematic story mode? Everyone I see talking about is saying its most likely gonna suck and not make up for the shit we’ve had to deal with from Capcom
Pretty sure NRS will HAPPILY take their excess of 5 million units sold over 5000 evo entrants. In fact, I am certain that Capcom too will HAPPILY take an excess of 5 million units sold over 5000 evo entrants. Come back to Earth, Lone Dragon.
This nigga still hating on MKX? He gotta be on Capcom’s payroll because Evo, as much as I enjoy it, means jackshit to a games actual success. Let’s be real now. At the end of the day, NRS is sitting pretty while Ono and crew can’t even open a Zenny store. Stop.
I am expecting to be disappointed, it will make it easy for me this way (also the Bengus art isn’t helping). I don’t think it will even be on par with SF4’s story (which was more than 4 hours of anime of varying quality telling the story like a jigsaw puzzle). However, Ono did say that it will be epic (or was it the best ever?) and Capcom have demonstrated in SFxT’s story series that they are capable of doing some really cool as fuck shit.
So cautiously pessimistic is a good way to describe my sentiment right now.
I’m expecting a good story, but they said it’s only about 2 hours long. Not sure if it’s 2 hours of cinematics-worth, or 2 hours including gameplay. After that, SF5 will still be as barebones as it was. They needed to expand on each characters intro story. The prologues are garbage.
My expectations are low. I’m just hoping the difficulty is actually respectable this time around. I want the battles to be challenging and meaningful, not shitty to the point where my niece can mash her way to victory while talking on the phone.
No idea what to expect. Everything else SFV has been so half baked, it’s hard not to assume the story mode will be half baked as well. The initial trailer weirded too with there not being one line up spoken dialogue in the thing. It’s like a series of shots with SF characters going
I think you could probably make a compilation of lone dragon posts from pre release to now that slowly shows a degrading mental state, could be an interesting study for the mental health industry
i expect complete psychosis by the end of the year
Most likely won’t even play story mode. I only did the story for about 4-5 characters and even then I just skipped everything to unlock their costumes.
Story in fighting games is dumb. Work on the fighting system instead.
What you mean you don’t like joke endings or endings that make no sense?
Nothing will surpass Fei Long’s Vanilla SF4 ending as far as that goes, it’s literally him talking to Seth (conviniently their mouths aren’t shown the majority of the time) while Seth is babbling non sense to him and then this thing happens at the end and it’s like “what the hell did I just watch?”
If anything, I am slightly surprised that Melee is still on Sunday (didn’t Smash 4 break its entrance record?). SFV being the major tournament is not a surprise AT ALL, we already knew it months ago. Lone Dragon beating this dead horse only displays how desperate he is to grasp any straw for blindly defending SFV.
