Ninja turtles being aliens was a rumour that surfaced when the movies were still in pre-production. The powers that be may have intended for them to be aliens but changed their minds when they faced all the backlash. In the final product they are still mutants.

I never played it but it sounds terrible. Meter for GI is dumb. CH for sidestepping also ridiculously dumb.
I basically have always said that namco basically wanted soul calibur to be as popular as tekken and therefore tried to make the game into “tekken with swords” rather than just letting it be soul calibur.
Not having a good step/8wr just feels terrible to play for me. Not having strong GI to call out A spam and predictable B rhythms also feels terrible to me.
Imho namco dropped the ball on SC incredibly. And it did it over and over and over again. I can play the game and get small amounts of satisfaction doing like trials and stuff like that, but outside of that, playin* people feels terrible because it feels like it wants to be tekken but without the thought that tekken had put into it… and the reason why is because SC was not designed to be like tekken in the first place so as long as it stays basically the same game as what it was as as respect to move properties, it will always feel like a square peg being thrust into a round hole.
Bring back strong 8wr and strong GI and I think people would get behind the game again. Emphasise these aspects of gameplay and balance them and the characters around them and I think the series would start to really get popular again instead of a game that most simply play for a day or 2 for some trials and then walk away to something better.
I got a year of good play out of sc2 in the arcades till I got fed up and the reason why I got fed up in the first place was because of 2G. That bastard of a glitch that sucked the fun out of sc2.
