She’s gonna be playable, I predicted Xmen characters are coming to Marvel, I predict there is a 100% not even 99% chance she will be playable. She’s literally made for this game’s story and decided by Akira Toriyama himself, she’s playable, but knowing them there’s a waifu tax coming.
MvCI has two huge companies to get characters from, not to mention previous entries’ characters and somehow has a bland roster lacking a lot of fan favorites like Vergil or Wesker. To twist the knife, they look bad.
DBFZ has mostly DBZ as a character source and one of its greatest failures were the similar looking characters, especially the saiyans. But all of them have great animations and are praised because they look better than the anime itself. They were also done from scratch.
I can deal with DBFZ, especially if Super characters come as DLC to add variety. MvCI never really had excuses outside FF and X-Men characters.
There’s a lot of difference between those two “bland” rosters.
This slander is getting old and tired from folks who claim to like fighting games. We got folks in here talking about minor changes when its clear they haven’t even played the game or understand it enough to know what the hell is going on.
The game has went through the most drastic change in its battle system since it has started. The ability to tag cancel out of 99% of what you can do, effectively giving every character about 20+ “assist” instead of 3 canned assist is huge. If that was the only change that alone would make it play some much differently from Marvel 3 but tag on character changes and the implementation of stones and the games are about as different as any of the games in the vs series from capcom.
As far as the roster is concerned I really wanted X-men but understand why it couldn’t happen. The roster is def one of its weaker aspects but it not as terrible as some of you are making it out to be. The newcomings are a ton of fun and the entire first batch of DLC characters are new to the series (except Venom, he’s the only carry over from the vs games before 3).
Shit on marvel for looking like shit (which is way over exaggerated but whatever, I’ll let yall cook).
Shit on them for not adding more characters
Shit on them for this dumb ass battle of the stones tourney
But don’t pretend that its a rehash of Marvel 3. It’s anything but…
Absolutely. Whatever you can do now will pay off later when you aren’t one of those busted old fat people on a scooter.
My wife and I lost a fair bit of weight before we got married and we’ve been fighting to keep up with it ever since. Diet makes a big difference but I’ve found that is a lot harder to change and takes time. For me exercise was the easier adjustment to make (just gotta find something you enjoy) and it doesn’t take a lot to see results (consistency more than anything). Our diet is pretty good but I still make a lot of bad choices when left to my own devices. Exercise is the only reason I haven’t ballooned back up.
It’s a natural reaction for humans to remain comfortable. Yet, people have to realize that wanting to always remain comfortable has negative effects as well. If you fuck off long enough, that need to fuck off will grow more and more each time and will overpower the need to progress.
I’d write more but I’m trying to get back to work. Just remember that discomfort is also your friend and should enable you to be proactive.
The same old. I’m not saying that people should go buy and play a game that they have no interest in. But maybe don’t say shit about it when you know nothing having not played it? Shouldn’t be too hard to keep what you say about something limited to what you know. I’m not getting DBFZ, so you won’t hear shit from me about how it plays because I won’t know.
Great decision. Started to walk on the beach near my house this morning. It’s a lot better than putting up with my old route, especially with the scorching summer coming.
Today’s temperature here is 40 C. Shit’s killing me.
Unrelated, but I might get a Switch next month. Only one game though. Any suggestions that aren’t Ultra?***
Depending on what your cutoff for ‘recent’ is Wonder Woman is either the best or second best modern DC movie…which really isn’t saying much because most of their recent movies have been trash.
I thought you were on board with dbzf. I played the beta and wasn’t disgusted by what I tried but this “all characters play differently” seems really weird to me. Maybe something has changed since I stopped following the game but all the characters except maybe frieza seemed to have the same game plan. I’m getting it for sure but If I don’t like it, I won’t try to rain on anyone else’s parade, seems like a waste of time to me.
Just know if I do if I do criticize the game, it’ll be from a position of having actually played the damn thing… not this weird parrot shit that happens here
I think infinite is a great game though. Prolly the best fighter capcom has put out in over a decade maybe more…
Played some Infinite last week. Thanos is way too much fun. Busting Reality Stone scrubs with Time Stone is even more.
The DBFZ Beta had a wack metagame with most people still spamming homing dash in neutral without getting punished. And relying way too much on autocombos.
Can’t blame the autocombo part tho. No one had access to training mode and people rather stick to their guns than try things out.
MVCI is typical Capcom fighter that wasn’t funded a lot of money. Why? Generally Capcom just doesn’t wanna put money into their fighting games. Marvel and Disney I assume didn’t fit much of a bill either. They were all down for releasing something while spending as little as possible. Like SFV, it should have been a digital download game for the launch content/quality, but overall gameplay wise MVCI was done really well IMO. The majority of Marvel heads are really excited about the game and it’s brought a good amount of the old heads like Chris Schmidt and Smoothviper back.
Roster doesn’t have Xmen but everyone knew that was going to happen. Doesn’t bother me because my favorite Xmen haven’t come back since Marvel 2 and Psylocke was just an assist function in that game. They put in Jedah who’s always been a favorite character of mine and Venom was also an old favorite that I used on my shitty MVC2 teams so the roster works for me. Enough of my favorites are in and some new favorites to round it out. I’m sure a lot of people like Mon Hun and Sigma also. Run into Sigma especially very regularly online.
DBZ I haven’t played yet, but just from watching and inferring I just personally can’t get hype for it. A big part of being into these types of games is that you have to like the characters and roster and just not a big fan of DBZ anymore. I liked DBZ when I was like 14. Now…not so much.
Past that I’m sure Arksys has done a decent job of making the characters more unique gameplay wise, but just visually everyone seems to have some type of a beam and air dashes forward with similar looking normals. Apparently there’s only one assist per character also. Not that that’s a huge issue since there’s usually one best assist per character in Marvel games, but compared to how you can turn everything into an assist with MVCI’s new system, feels kinda bland to limit what’s usually a 3 assist per character game into one assist per character. Everyone having a similar ability to home in on the opponent with a homing dash reminds me a lot of Arcana Heart where every character can move in on the opponent in the exact same way.
What is has polish and gameplay wise is solid, but too many things at least visually about the system seem homoginized and I can’t imagine there’s going to be huge difference between the way the different saiyans play or look on screen. Yamcha, Buu and a few others kinda deviate from the stubby button homing dash saiyan beam shooting stuff, but otherwise that seems to be a lot of the game so far.
Nah. Despite all the anime I’ve watched and will watch in the future, I couldn’t care less for Dragon Ball Z. Better put, I don’t like it.
As for the game, I know they implemented a new gameplay mechanic that involves the dragonballs? Maybe that’ll help with whatever you think it lacks? Not sure. Can’t really speak on it.
MvCI is ridiculously fun, but I can understand why someone wouldn’t want to play it. But when it’s evident that you haven’t played the game and you complain about “issues” that you know nothing about because you haven’t played the game… that’s certified bullshit.
For fighters coming out next year: Fighting EX Layer seems like it could be fun, but I’m just out here trying to get some more BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle news. I want to play SFV:AE and BBCTB as my main games with either MvCI, Rev2 (once it makes sense to me) or Fighting EX Layer on the side. So many great fighting games out now and on the horizon, so why complain about one that you know nothing about?
