Given all the posts you’ve made about this since the update dropped, I’m left to conclude you’re bad with computers.
Lots of small frame changes, but the key changes seem to be:
Lariat incredibuffed, damage, hitbox and movement speed have been buffed.
Hp and ex piledrivers leave gief closer than before
V trigger has more duration. The changes by ththe selves aren’t huge but with the top tier getting nerfed as well… it adds up.
Zangief lariat is an anti air again to me that’s the biggest change by a mile.
I honestly think Gief can hold his own against the majority of the cast. The new lariat range buffs helps him alot against characters like Guile. Lariat in general is very good now and can whiff punish with st lk easily. The only character Gief loses horribly too now is Sim. If Gief players werent so stubborn they would have a pocket character like Necalli or Balrog just for that matchup. Other than that I think he is in a very good spot now. Im excited to see some top tier Gief play in 2017 =)
You know, there is one Necalli nerf I could get behind. Tone down the brightness on his CPT and Halloween V Trigger costumes. I mean sure, it’s good for teaching new Necalli players to watch the opponent’s character instead of their own but by god is it too bright.
