The Street Fighter V Lounge - Balrog Mains on Suicide Watch

What about Laura players who act like slags though? Where do you stand

Bro…dem boobs are fierce.

My friend keeps blowing me up with cr.lp on wake up. Any tips on the timing to stuff that?

Block

BlazBlue CP has a “grid-like” training stage. Supposedly it, and almost every other stage, lags. Most people pick the (also boring) Colosseum stage instead, but when I did lobby matches in that game there were still quite a few people who picked the grid stage every time anyway. SFIV has ruined everything.

Meaty heavys can blow that up. You’ll get a CC for your trouble.

And that’s why I lost, I was playing 50% serious and 50% figuring out what poke does what and what range and when can I stick out crhp, what set up can I do etc etc.

The distance I have to actually play footsies with…I mines well just fucking command grab…and both allow good mix ups…and Oki because I’ve been scooping the fuck out of people with Wingless

Sometimes I’ll start a game applying footsies and spacing with Mika. Then I lose one round and go straight to Boot Up your Ass City

Because you can grab her out of command grabs…

now I just throw with sweep :^)

It did make me pretty salty…I guess I need more training.

Why would he block when he can most likely press about 4 buttons that beat it.

To the Op just press something that hits crouchers ( can still be a standing normal), but press it so it hits him as he’s just coming out of the wake up animation - not after. If you have a special that’s safe on block cancel into that too.

Example Ryu axe kick, st.Fierce, both mp.

I read that as he’s the one waking up and getting meatied jab to death. So I said block.

Well yeah, if some batshit crazy player is pressuring with cr.jab then sure.

This is why I keep a bucket next to my game station

Whoever Jackart is, good games man, good games.

I’m not really trying to make the game into something it’s not. I’m taking it for what it is to me. At least I think I am. I’m using tactics in this game I wouldn’t use in other games or that I haven’t used for years. The problem for me is learning the mind of the weak player/scrub… Both in this game AND online. I’m an arcade kid from so cal and tbqh we don’t have players this “kind” of weak at arcades. No one just uses jumps as a mainline strategy so it has taken me by surprise when mixed in with neutral bypassing and lots of sweeps. The spacings are all off as well and the timings on jumps seem different.

But I read yesterday that one could get silver just by anti airing… And I tried it… It kinda worked a bit but the players would adjust and stop jumping but continue with the sweeps and other stupidity… While throwing in jumps at weirdo timings and spacings… But then something clicked and I realized what my real mistake was and how to correct it. I was trying to play bad players like they are good because they were showing me a mind for mixups and a level of special move mastery that I usually correlate to someone somewhat competent… What I didn’t realize was that these are good players USING BAD TACTICS. once I put 2 and 2 together it clicked. It all made sense. This is something I’ve never been exposed to because I’ve never really played streetfighter online. I played 4 like maybe a grand total of a week online in its entire lifespan.

But that’s not all it was. It’s also positively the lag that has been causing jitter that has been slowing my reactions down. So I went into training mode and just did AA’s against a Ryu that mixed up fireballing or jumping or dashing. I learned to just look for the jump no matter what and that I don’t actually have to worry about the fireball against these guys because THEY WILL jump sooner or later, and since they have no actual footsies I also don’t have to worry about the dash. The best they can do is throw/frame trap but since they are at heart weak players, the mixups are very obvious. I still blame the game because I now have to grind bad players in a boring way to get to the decent players… I hate grinding of all types but I like playing against good players so… Yeah. And in any decent game it just should t have been this hard to beat players of this level. It went from very frustrating and depressing/boring… To not having to look at the screen to win almost… And I put that on capcom. The beginner level strategies are to good and worse still, a lot of these players will be stuck in this mindset and never bust out and that’s almost as frustrating to know that these players will just give up before they can see the good side of streetfighter.

Tldr

The game rewards low level strategies and play way to much IMO and this will lead to players not getting better and not giving streetfighter a fair shake.

I wonder where @Sinekyre is. This messy launch certainly made him happy, I expected to see he ranting around.

I know why they do not show the names in confirmation but whenever I get this one 5-bar guy it lags so bad I can’t even play. It is just a waste of time. They try to match me up with him at least once a day.

A better question is…

Why would you end in grab when you can EX Strike, DP?

Why does it always take longer time to find a match after a loss than after a win ? Please game, don’t punish me like that.

That’s a coincidence.
