I meant scrap the entire buffer system and go back to traditional linking.

I would say probably like me ( Middle east or parts of Europe, Africa, Australia,ect,ect ) Because we are the second class citizens regarding the online servers. They work one day per week or something. I think the game only worked 1 day as it is intended where lobbies were working. I could invite people without being kicked every 3 seconds. I was also getting ranked matches that day.

Today however, none of that shit is happening. No matches and no way to stay in the lobby for more than minutes before getting kicked. ( To be fair it did work at couple of hours during the day).

For anyone that is thinking that we are making this stuff up or just bitching or something. Here is the quote from Haunt’s latest update :

That never happened in the betas.

Ranked is good because it’s like a tournament. People play there hardest whether it’s super cheese or just super skill.

Casual is good for practicing your character and new characters and going further into your mindgames than 1 step since people will have time to read you, unlike in ranked where a lot of time you have more than 10 matches before you are rematched with some people and it can be hard to remember a persons name/trick/style.

Ranked and casual are both valuable. Ranked gives you a way to gauge your progress… It isn’t perfect by any means, but it’s a tool. Casual is a way to build skills and ranked allows you to show them off.

Ranked is a grind. Nothing more. There’s no fun in it.

Haven’t really provided a good reason though. What is good about that? Should we go all the way back to SF2 without even a reversal buffer, and sometimes impossible because of frame skip? should we remove the special/super extra buffer time? Have to and the motion and hit the button during the hitstop after the attack connects? These are things that the buffer systems make easier and, for the most part, are appreciated. What exactly is improved by making attacks harder?

Also, remember, there is a buffer system doesn’t mean there aren’t 1f links. There are a couple of links that involve moving and become 1F links. For example, Ryu normally can’t do sMP - sMP - sLK. However vs crouching characters Ryu can do sMP - sMP - walk forward 2F - sLK and it links and he can still combo to EX Tatsu after. Exploring a little and I just found a pretty cool one one for Mika. Vs crouching in corner sMP (walk 1F) - sMP (walk 1F) - F+MP xx MP - F+HP - EX Wingless = 306/460 with two one frame links. Mid screen you do the same thing but remove the F+HP and end with EX Peach

Well, considering that the buffer system is a huge reason why frame traps are so effective right now, that would have huge consequences when it comes to the overall game as far as offense is concerned. You see, pressing buttons while in block stun has a much higher risk right now because you could be buffering your button to come out right after you are out of block stun. The buffer also ensures tighter, more consistent frame-trap execution in a game that heavily relies on it (at least for a lot of characters). You have effectively made it simultaneously easier on defense and harder on offense.

Have fun getting jabbed out of your failed frame-traps and dropping your 1-frame links without plinking. What a blast.

Get used to the anime. Buffers 4 lyfe. Your average anime game can have 5, 10 to 20 frame buffers and still have execution requirements.
