Evidence that Daigo has actually been putting in work during betas or ‘privileged access’ builds would have the interesting talking point. Of course no such thing would be necessary to beat Lupe but I’m sure everybody was keeping an eye open anyway just incase he let a setup or some tech slip. If you follow the chatter surrounding him in SFV you could be forgiven for thinking that Daigo rolls drunk out of bed and gets wheeled in to SFV promo events where he wanders around lost and confused until somebody hands him a stick and he just mashes some buttons like El Oh El I don’t even play this game. The truth is almost certainly that the guy has been in the lab just like everybody else, but we haven’t seen any of it yet.
As opposed to say, certain Amercian players who show their hand at the earliest opportunity and get pilloried for it.
After about 20 or so some odd matches, got my first failed to send/receive. Played a Jamaican, a Portuguese flag and Canada. Canada only one that really lagged. Rest have been flawless.
Not trying to veer off topic or be a homer, but I just want to inform everyone that Lupe Fiasco is a really really really good rapper. Like one of the best, and you guys should definitely check his music out. His best projects are Food & Liquor, The Cool, and Tetsuo & Youth.
You can find those 3 in the spoiler tags below. These three songs are considered lyrical masterpieces. Mural, in particular, is otherworldly.
You keep an eye out for stuff when a top player is playing a top player. Not when a top player is playing a fucking rapper LOL. If he ever fights Jamie Lee Curtis you have to expect the same. She loves SF, but it’s more fun when she’s not getting bodied in it. That’s ENTERTAINMENT Sports.
This just shows how focused the FGC is on SOLELY the FGC. Time to get people into the new world of sports where big things can happen just for the sake of entertainment, gaining twitch views and relevancy.
Wait for a Capcom Pro Tour event then you can super analyze what Daigo is doing. Until then, just have fun watching him get hit by a rapper’s fire shoryukens.
Are you limiting your parameters for match quality? I left mine to any and the matches started flowing again. Only had one less than preferred experience.
Vanilla SFIV and KI Leagues all over again. Don’t get too gud or you won’t have anyone to play but that other top guy that drops on everyone.
Though living in Brazil might be an issue also since you’re just always going to have a smaller player base if it’s mostly matching you with South Americans.
There’s better PR stunts you can pull than fake Hollywood promotions. I don’t want to see the heros of sport bend over for the sake of a few casuals. Fuck that. Talk about selling out.
I’d rather have seen Daigo vs Tokido and all the tech laid on the table that we’d never seen.
Nah bro. Entertainment Tonight Sports. That’s how you get people to care.
Besides Tokido said he’s going to go back to SFIV in a year so better start practicing against the new competition that will make you even more famous.
Mind having a helping hand? I was planning on going through Ken’s, Rashid’s, and F.A.N.G’s frame data today when I get the game (in about an hour, excluding the time I need to download the thing though).
