Yea, but like I said earlier, it’s easier for you to take a chance and just show up since your so close. I waste 1/4 tank of gas going down there and back, not including the money I’m gonna spend there.
Well, I guess I’ll just have to chance it. I’ll do that next Thursday/Friday, even if people don’t post… but I WILL post if I’m going.
i know this doesnt have anything to do with league, so disregard this if your concern has nothing to do with pz:
most people didnt show up to the meeting to voice or discuss any real concerns due to whatever reasons.
i did find out that john ordering small shipments of parts frequently via was becoming too expensive. he had placed a large order that that needed to be shipped via seafreight so that he can have a larger stock and be able to fix faulty parts on legitimate demand. that was my main issue solved when i found out that this shipment has been ordered. its a much slower delivery and i had no idea of this situation at the time. bit of miscommunication when explaining to john about things not working right.
his views seem to be a bit different than the community’s but not entirely. he looks more towards the new games coming out where we mostly want to play what we are content to compete in now. the problem is that our community isnt growing playing the same old games (and obviously cant be the sole supporters of pz), but i do feel that the old games shouldnt be taken off the floor and maintained to the best of pz’s abilities. i dunno i think there is most likely a happy medium somewhere in here. personally im going to try not to be so critical in the future because pz is at least bringing games that we otherwise wouldnt have the opportunity to play.
thanks for the update- getting out of bed was hella difficult. vodka owns me. good to see that my only real concern is being taken care of.
i’m all for playing newer games… kof xi(or whatever sequel that is coming soon) still has potential to be popular… and the rest of them… well, let’s hope that the companies will make games that are actually worth playing competitively. you can’t say that we haven’t at least given everything a try… or… maybe you can. i’m not sure.
Asianhitler: I sure hope the ‘community’ you are refering to isnt the fighting game community. You and the people posting negative comments on here are hardly what I would call that. These guys might be the fighting game community to you and to themselves but in the grand scale, they are nothing.
The fighting game (or anyother) community is one that should support the progress and growth of itself. If that doesnt happen, the community eventually dies.
What makes you or pimp2303 or Gene better than the people who come in here frequently, play new games and look forward to newer games? The fact that you are better players? Maybe. But who cares about that if you dont support or encourage the community to expand? If there were more players playing, then the price of fun per player will decrease. Simple supply and demand fact. So if your complaint is about price, then go encourage more people to play so the price can drop to your satisfaction. The #1 reason anyone would open an arcade is for the passion of gaming. If it was to get rich, the business plan would include everything BUT an arcade.
The arcade scene is about progress. New games, new challenges. This is what the definition of an ‘arcade’ should be, not what it has become here because of lack of support from the Japanese companies. Old games are great to fill in gaps but dont do much to advance the scene. It is much much easier to have old games on the floor than it is to get new ones. In that case easy does not mean progress.
Its quite obvious now that most people on here just hide behind their monitors. If you cared about the community, why didnt you show up and voice your opinion in person as opposed to typing your 2 cents.
Also it is obvious most of the people posting on here care only about themselves as opposed to the ‘community’. Shoot your mouth off because you have an issue at the expense of the potential risk of discouraging people from expanding the scene.
Thank you for your comments Lay and Dutchforce. This business will be better off without your attitudes. Im sure you will find other arcades that cater to your taste.
My role in this is not only find different ways to revive the scene but find new ways of expanding it so it can sustain itself. A bigger community will mean much more fun for everyone that loves to play fighting games…or anyother arcade game.
It is hard enough convincing any company to collaborate or sponsor any events that involve arcade games as it is, but I refuse to see it as a dead case. Im not gonna go into how much we sacrifice or work our butts off here to bring life to this community. So reading these ignorant posts from ‘key members of the community’ of how we dont do anything but just sit here, THEN accuse Ranma, who’s been running your tournaments for all these years of anything fishy is where I draw the line.
Thank you Alex and everyone else who took the incentive to show up today.
Great games are being tested and released in Japan as we speak. We are moving on in this industry and we will expand, with or without the support of everyone with negative comments.
I don’t know if ppl misunderstood me or what but nothing that I said had anything to do with Pz. I could give a fuck less about Pz because I new from day one that they had no intention of catering to us so thats why I was at stargate while the rest of you guys were at PZ. This type of shit has been going on since before Pz was the new spot. So I really didn’t care about some meeting to help Pz problems. I never go there other than for ranbats or tournies so that makes no difference to me and Pz has absolutely nothing to do with the league and it only recently had something to do with the ranbats. And it’s funny how ppl have come to the realization that Pz doesn’t cater to the fighting game community so stop trying to defend PZ when that was not the main issue, sounds like a bunch of bullshit politician talk to me. The only thing I was talking about was the league and the ranbats and the ranbats were a stargate matter before they became PZ matters. People have been complaining about the marvel cabs at stargate before they became PZ cabs so its not surprising that our complaints have been disregarded since we have the same people or person handling things that were handling them at SG. The league was my only cocern because it’s not right when something like this goes on so long without any type of rectification. It’s hard for me to just take any bullshit that someone tries to feed me and I’m supposed to be Ok with it. Like saying the league only brought in $300 when I know better than that. I’m not a fool. And saying that there were only 7 teams, ok maybe I could see that cause not everyone showed up all the time but I know for sure not every team had only 3 participants because I know for sure 5 teams that had 4 to 5 members that attended and participated at each tourny.
Houston Team(Team Top Tier) - AznHitler, Crow, Joe R, Ashley, Marneto
Sugaland’s Team (Team Eucope) - Sugar Land, Dutchforce, DarkChylde, [’__’], Turtler, - This team only entered one tourny but all 5 members participated.
3.Team Central - BucketHead, Ron-O, Rudy, Kensou, Jan-Michael
4.Team Don’t give a fuck-Ranma0005, Power-DD, Vinnyman, Big Gus, Dirty Sanchez (The first tounry Team don’t give a fuck had 5 members but after that Big Gus was the missing participant and I’m not sure if he was subsituted or not.)
Team $3 - First tourny 4 members participated - ddr_gakusei, Buktooth, amodf, total toanage. Other tournies 5 members participated but 2 were switched - ddr-gakusei, amodf, mopreme, JW.
With that being said , let me kick some mathematics to you.
**One full team for each tourny = $25
One 3man team for each tourny = $15
One 4man team for each = $20 **
So what If I were to add up just 4 of those 5 teams I mentioned for one tourny, wich had full teams for each tourny, lets see. 4 full teams with each team paying $25 and I know everyone knows 25 by 4 = 100, so thats $100 for one league tourny if only 4 teams showed up. Now there were 3 tournies held in total, so lets multiply that $100 that we got earlier if only 4 teams were in attendance by the number of tournies. 3, yah fun with math. HMMMM, I think 100 times 3 = 300, so thats $300 and thats only with 4 teams and nowhere near the 7 teams that was mentioned in the earlier post. I’m no expert at math but I’m pretty sure something isn’t adding up. Now lets just say for the benefit of the doubt that the other 3 teams had only 3 participants for each tourny, so that would be $15 for each team and lets multiply that sum by the 3 teams ($45) and the 3 tournies held, $45 by 3 = $135. Anyway I could go on and on with the different possibilties and scenarios which is why it’s hard for me to let this go, but oh well.
Bottom line my nigga, you can’t bullshit a bullshitter so that malarkey don’t fly with me but I can’t make a nigga to tell the truth thats something he has to do on his own.
First event was held 7-18-05
August there was Evo
September Dallas Regional ran too late, no team event
October Regional moved to November with Trash Day
Novemeber Trash Day Team event cancelled
January Regional Team Event held
Ok bullshitter, where is the 3rd Event you claim in your equations?
There were 7 teams involved and participated in the league.
4 teams were fully active in the league(yours, mine, Top tier, Dallas)
3 teams(Lay’s, Team Unknown, and Killeen) all participated once.
For the sake of argument, we’ll say they all had full teams of 5 even though we all know that isn’t true. But we’ll just say that for this case. 4 x 25 x 2 for the 4 full participating teams = $200. 3 x 25 x 1 = $75. Well wouldn’t ya know, thats $275 not $300, my mistake. The remaining portion of the $300 was a donation to the league.
All in all, I really don’t care what you believe or what you think at this point. You want my truth, its been there in black and white. You want to continue your little conspiracy theories? Leave me out of it. League will be resolved soon enough as well as the ranbats. People always wanna run with something without ever doing any research, and yet never think anything about the consequences of their actions.
Big Chris - your reaction and thoughts would be relevant, if you were dealing with a company running their first ever tournament. You’ve been to my tournaments for years, and you are still skeptical?
John, I wasn’t trying to be negative but constructive. You think the price really matters to me? I’m still using points I’ve earn. And I’ve put a lot of money in my card before. I’m stating what most players probably feels about the price.
I know I’ve given you these suggestions long before, when you just opened up. Like I said, this is MY 2 CENTS. Take it how you will; I don’t mean to offend.
About me being there, let’s just say I have a blind aunt in town and an old friend I haven’t seen in a while so that’s going to take more priority than the meeting.

Hopefully some more teams can make it out to our next Regional in Dallas in September.
Standings after the January Regional:
1st Top Tier 9-1

Dallas Regional is coming up, are any of the teams interested in going and having some more league matches there? We also have room for one more team in the league playoffs.
Yeah that sounds good but it would be better those were actual facts and I can clearly see team unknown and kileen (k-town) appearing more than once. And for the record I know sugarland, k-town and unknown team had all 5 members that participated.
A wise man told me to be skeptical of you since 2 or 3 years ago it just took me a while to figure it out.
my bad on derailing the thread. i only dropped pz’s name in my 2nd post to make a point about something else… and… yeah… going to go hide away in that hole over there -->
i am a douche for not showing up to the meeting like i said i would.
Been so long that people seem to forget. Team Unknown was Ill E’s team and had Dictator, [--], and Benzo I think. [--] ended up changing to Lay’s squad for event 2 because Ill E and Benzo didn’t show up. K-town consisted of Jeff Hill, Clever, Dreamfire, and Noi Noi Pinoy. Both of those teams had losses tacked on after the 2nd event basically forfeiting their matches against the teams that were active. Continue to be skeptical from your living room, I’ll be sure to mail you your $5 soon.
@ first I wasnt going to say nething negative. Was going to try and be positive about the whole situation. But to be honest the whole situation is fucked up within the houston fighting game community. Was told last night basically stfu up and u either with pz or against pz. I was going to consult with the niggas who I play with and ask what they want to do if they want to play over there sometimes. But thought about it and came to the conclusion fuck it I guess Im against pz. As I stated b4 in this thread b4 the meeting I had work and could not make it. Emotiongear had msged me friday night to discuss this thread. I did not get the msg till sunday night. Dont check srk msg system. Bad way to get in contact with me. Not sayin he knew but sayin its a bad way to catch up with me. I see this nigga kevin every weekend @ work. Me and kevin discussed pz about 50 percent of the day @ work. Nigga told me I was spoiled by stargate because I was used to them fixing the sticks everytime they were broke. That is not being spoiled even @ the galley they tried to fix the sticks most of the time. I even in the thread tried to come to a happy medium. Ill collect some money from some of the players who play marvel and help provide the rest of the money for new sticks. So I tried to help the community and solve one of the two main complaints about pz. I know Im not one of the main ppl who pz caters to. No suprise I dont go out there alot. When I go to an arcade I go to play. Im not like some of these niggas who use pz as a place to look @ girls and anime. I prob have as much anime as the place has and my girls or as hot or hotter than those girls. Plus those girls who do show up to the place r not there to play or really try to know u. They r there to work. Unlike some of the ppl or idiots who they r tryin to target I get women other ways.
For ranma once again I have or had nothin to do with the league. I know of the situation from the 4 ppl who told me stuff about it. I still say this whole situation could have been avoided if u would have just said Im payin the money around 7-10 months ago. I know of niggas who say they talked to u in person about the league and u changed the subject as close as last week. Im the nigga who told ronald to go on ahead and start this thread. It was accomplishin nothin talkin to me about it. U might as well put it up here and u guaranteed to get a response. I had no control over it so there was nothin I could do. They asked kevin to say somethin to u about it and nothin still didnt change.
P.S. To emotiongear/john up till last night I had nothin against pz. I would have complained about the normal shit every1 else complained about. When I had my ride or rides I didnt mind going out there on fridays to play evan, ivan, vinny and joe nem. But the msg u sent back thru kevin was totally fucked up. When I read ur msg about rudy’s I was actually happy and sad that I didnt see it in time. The reason why I and some of the peeps over here loved SG so much was because of cmutt. I had disagreements with cmutt and I bitched about some shit. But I was loyal to cmutt cause he tried to get to know all sides of the story. He didnt just get one side and say fuck it Im going with just this side. He heard every1. I went to Sg @ the end when the business was closing down every week. As a business owner u want customers who r loyal whether or not u have a new game or product. I know we are not ur target audience. But I guessed wrongly that u would @ least want to get know most of ur customers.
Good to see Texas got a shit talkin thread. Brings a tear to my eyes. Seems like home sweet home now. Thank u guys for bringin that part of home to Texas.
The way i see it, the fighting game community is dying here.
Why? No new games, No new people because old people are too good to catch up w/.
Whether “the community” like it or not, PZ looks like the only thing we have to latch on to as a community that is supporting new people and new games.
I don’t need to say anything else. Take that how u want to take it, hate it or love it i guess.
I’m not big on being a keyboard ninja so i’m done.
