GB is the only game where the invitation system doesn’t work for me.
I can even post links in Discord and people will end up in my rooms.
When that Evo video mentions special exhibitions for the original lineup (albeit minus Smash and MVC2) are they talking about some sort of special offline tournament or are they online too? Either way, it’s seems like it’ll be some sort of limited, invitational event.
It isn’t very clear, IMO. The only games that seem to be for sure online are the new four.
Well, the Cannons have a finger in Riots pie so I doubt TOs would need any serious adjustments. Sanitized, sure, but eSports and EVO itself have been going in that direction for awhile now, so no real loss there. I think their Core Values have already aligned.
I’m just wanting a shake up to the status quo. FGs have been ruled by Japan for so long, I think they need a family friendly American company to give them a kick in the pants.
And our community too is ossified. Although we dabble in each other’s games most everyone identifies themself primary with one brand, SF MK Tekken or anime. I’m interested in the resulting clash of cultures, riot kiddies squaring off vs old men FGC.
I really hope that Riot’s game doesn’t end up as another silo like Nintendo’s game did.
I mean I hear your caution re Riot’s business practices, but I have trouble imagining how it could be bad. Even if Riot kicked out the Cannons and ignored Evo to run their own circuit, it won’t harm FGC. And I can’t imagine a method for Riot to put such a stranglehold on Evo that all other games disappear or have other companies dance to their tune. At worst we lose Evo from CapCup etc for example.
Riot could pull a Nintendo and refuse streaming their game except from Riot sanctioned events, but that would seem to be suicide.
Come what may, Riot puts out quality product, and competition is usually good for the consumer.
This. Time to get rid of the dinosaur mindset of Japan.

I’m fine with having fanservice in my games, cause fanservice is good and japan knows sex sales.
Never understood the crusade american whale moms try to fight fanservice, instead of their own weight.

When I used to play LoL there was fanservice aplenty. did they change that?
How long do you have to wait to get matches in SamSho where you are?
Takes quite long for me versus 10-15 seconds in Tekken 7 and 30-60 seconds for SF5.
I only play lobby in GBVS but when I played rank, it took me under a minute to get games too.

I dont know where Spimnerism is located. But after being able to play Volt fairly well in the 30th anniversary netcode (which was advertised as not beimg very good), I dont know anymore.
Although if Im remembering right, the initial netcode was terrible and then it was fixed. Either way its all weird.
Initial wasn’t bad. I recall playing Jerom and Jin in it and it was pretty much the same.
There was a time when I couldn’t play because my inputs were getting doubled.
I can play Volt in CF and that uses delay, you should be able to play him fine in halfway decent Rollback.
However SFVs Rollback isn’t half decent, it’s not even 10% decent.
