Summary
From what I’ve seen yes. I was watching a stream earlier and I bowed out. Bear in my I’m not a fan of the franchise, never played the first game. That said, I saw some Z Tier writing and decided to head out.
Not only true but even worse in many cases.
Without going into spoilers, the game doesnt really respect the characters and forces them into llogical situations and out of character moments so it can force the narrative they are aiming to.
It is clear that Amy Henning was the heart of the franchise, and that the team behind this new game is not on par with her writing at all.
A friend of mine that owns a vg store says that has already been having to deal with some people returning the game.
What’s the deal with Injustice 1 being free ? I wonder if anyone still plays it online.
Trying to hype up a potential Injustice 3 reveal ?
Besides that, maybe get people interested on buying Injustice 2.
After all, INJ1 is basically dead, and is probably no longer generating revenue.
By giving it free, you create buzz around the brand, generate good publicity (i assume) and motivates people to get the sequel that has more monetization schemes like lootboxes and the like
When I heard of IN 2 having that gear system for different visual themes I was excited about different wing options for Hawkgirl,as she is my favourite.
Then they added Raiden and Sub Zero instead.
I loathe NRS games so much, that even free I won’t get them.
Dunno what was with that game that i simply abandoned it after 1 or 2 weeks.
With Inj1 i played it a lot with friends and cousins, but with Inj2, it was just apathy.
I agree with you. Like…idk what it was about the game but I could never really get into it. Now part of it was Nightwing not being in it, and he was the one FG character I instantly clicked with. But Harley was my IJ1 secondary and she played pretty much the same in IJ2 initially (that actually was a big deal since she still had access to her meterless launch combos that were easily hit confirmable). There’s a lot IJ2 did better, but it just never clicked with me the way IJ1 did. If IJ1 had IJ2’s Netcode I’d still be on that shit.
I can’t quite tell but for me the movement was off in Injustice games.
It feels like your characters move in a low gravity room. Not sure if it’s the animations or the controls just not being sharp enough.
I couldn’t play it.
It is indeed quite floaty.
And while that didnt bother me, the way that negative edge/input buffer works on NRS games, and specially on INJ1 was something that always bothered me.
Even when i liked the game, that was something that always annoyed me, even to this day on MK11.
You end with either moves not registering because you double tapped on the attack, or you end with moves you didnt want because the buffer is too lenient.
It has always amazed me how their games are touted as casual friendly, when the way the combos work, the input buffer and the negative edge work against the player to make their interactions with the game easier, not to mention how zoning heavy they become, something that casuals loathe.
I mean once I got used to the Negative Edge, for the most part it wasn’t too bad for me. But yeah the NE was ROUGH when first starting out. But I sort of treated it like KOF where I just got used to holding down buttons more.
But man I miss NIghtwing. He had everything. Zoning, range, good damage, annoying mix when he’s in your grill, safe chip, plus frames, utility. It was beautiful.
Okay he had ALMOST everything, he had zero way to interact with the opposite top corner of the screen so he auto-lost to Hawkgirl which sucked.
Yeah Injustice 2 was good…until one day it just wasn’t. Couldn’t even tell you what’s wrong with the game it’s just missing something.
Animations in that game were definitely on the stiff side.
