No ban, Chris hu has never been sponsored or a company ad dollar guy. Or close to any business, just a guy who would hang out play at nlbc afaik. Now today unfortunately they wouldn’t even put him on the mic. And I’ve seen spooky check people on stream before.
Idc about the bans I just said fuck fchamp because personally I’m not rocking with what he said. Hell you should know by now I’m with all the “old fgc” shit that would happen on stream. Hell I’ve posted clips of Chris hu and other “problematic” things said back then. I thought it was funny. But let me be very clear there’s a difference at least to me between subject matter and out of all those clips nobody was joking about a literal movement about black people being murdered.

No one is forcing capcom to do anything though? It’s clear cut business logic. Capcom does not see “the fgc” they dont care about “the fgc” they care about the people they sell to and their perception of capcom as a company. If Capcom perceives that their customers have a net negative reaction to a specific person among them, it makes sense to punish that person to keep up images with those customers
Because it egregiously stupid. Both of them got shamed to hell and back. Fixing those situations doesn’t mean we get every company on to act as arbiter of the scene.
But the issue is still there: Capcom needs to now set a line that we can all rock by. If we aren’t going to police ourselves or figure out of way to resolve situations like these, then they’re gonna keep doing it for us. How, when and where they decide to do this is not going to be for us to decide.
That’s where we’re at.

Mike Z fucked up worse than FChamp. He made light of a man being murdered in the street by those that were charged to protect him.
People are still fucking marching about it and he said that shit over a week ago.
Obviously, Mike Z’s social awareness is at the level of a gala apple’s but still, that man was murdered, the whole world watched, and he thought “I’m gonna use this for the lolz”
Mike Z seems like the guy that would take a roasting to heart because he virtue signals all the time, and either be a better person as a result, or fall apart and become and embittered asshole that hates everyone.
I don’t think what FChamp did was as gross, but more racist and shitty by downplaying something important. the big difference being FChamp that dude who would never, ever admit that was he did was wrong privately, will put out a shitty apology, and just be more careful for now on.
Both of them fucked up. But a permaband wouldn’t fix either of them. Mike Z needs a stern talking to by the people that usually worship the ground he walks on, FChamp needs someone he respects to call him a fucking idiot and be straight forward.

Yeah, that’s often the thing that’s most overlooked in these whole situations. There’s never any talk about how to fix the behavior of those doing wrong, moreso strike fear in everyone so they just try their best not to in the future.
The goal should be to change hearts and mindsets. All this shit has done has made it so these guys are gonna feel victimized themselves and everyone else is gonna be too afraid to say shit rather than actually understand WHY saying these things are wrong.
