Well,i respect your opinion since you are a seasoned GG player afaik.
However, i don’t really like to judge until i actually play the game. I kinda like what i’ve seen from the videos except the terribly lobby system.
Maybe it’s not a good GG game and its only in name, but seems decent enough as it’s own thing. I’ll give it a try at least.

IMO, you are making a hugely positive move letting Strive be your 1st real GG experience.
Xrd was a bunch of hot trash and did a disservice to the real Guilty gear games like the X2 series by making shit for babies. Strive will be righting the ship in making GG a fun series for all again.

Well, i actually enjoy / enjoyed some aspects of it, i did play it for what 4 years lol but that was mostly because it has Juri.
I don’t hate the game,it just lacks that “thing” that makes me really enjoy it. Though i kinda wanna learn Poison as well as a alt character to my Juri because i like like what i see from her gameplan, pretty cool screen control with her as opposed to neutral bypass meta that SFV is so guilty off.

Fair point of view, but I wouldn’t hold my breath on any real changes. Did you read that dev diary I posted the other day? Arc response to every complaint is basically “we hear your complaints but we aren’t changing bc muh new players”.

There are certain things that are clearly here to stay, since the game is designed to be the less GG game possible.
By this point is clear that nothing will sway their minds about it.
They already commited a lot of resources into designing the game and redesigning the chars around those decisions.
At most we will se revisions to the damage output, and maybe, just maybe, some combo routes being added.
But i doubt it on the later.
At least the changes on the damage output are reasonable to expect them since it works against everything they set themselves for this game.
Since is not noob friendly at all, and it will only serve to scare any new player away when they see they dont have a real fighting chance againt better players.

What I don’t get is removing a bunch of the gatlings. It makes learning combos way easier than other games because you can always start out with LMH>launcher/special
