Well I just took the dive and bought a high end router… dunno if it’s gonna make a difference with my online gaming experience (mostly SFV) but it’s a start…

You won’t notice any difference except better signal quality from one room to another if you play wireless.

There’s only so much you can squeeze out of it when it’s limited by your internet quality as well as the netcode itself and you need to factor in the other person’s connection as well.

From my experience anything above 150 euro is overkill for a normal house / apartment.

However,I hope you get your money’s worth.

It hasn’t arrived yet it’s a TP-Link AC5400.

I agree with @Skort , it’s probably not gonna make much difference but I haven’t upgraded my router like ever.

Yea fam I’m connected wired on my PS4… I have a Flat CAT7… dunno if I need to upgrade that too? I bought it back in 2018…

CAT7 will go up to 10Gbps up to 100m so you’re absolutely fine for the foreseeable future.

Pro tip: if your PS4 is making a lot of noise when it runs games then send it to someone who can open it and clean up all the dust. My vanilla PS4 is like 5 years old and after cleaning it for the first time it went from sounding like an airplane taking off to being dead silent. It’s really something.

Just open it’s back and use some compressed air to blow the dust off.

I’ve seen that lil thing, it’s a very small cooler.Super easy to clean,you barely need to detach anything.

I heard the newer versions can be opened easily, but I have the original model: if you want to clean that one properly you pretty much need screwdrivers.
