Hot take, Ryu’s arc in ASF should’ve ended with him melting Necalli.
Ryu shouldn’t be really acting like a main character, and it shows because he had almost fuck all to do with ASF. He just pulled up, shot some fools and boom, plot’s over.
By SF2, he already didn’t have Protag reasons to be super involved. Sagat had beef with him and he was on that Mamba Mentality just trying to work on his craft.
Guile and Chun were the ones tryna take down Bison. That’s why they’re so involved in ASF.
Alpha was fucking stupid in general. Throw the whole thing in the trash. Even the gameplay was cheeks.
They should just scrap SFs entire Story and make a hard reset.
Indepth character episodes covering their entire Arc from SF0 to SFVI, giving the characters relationships and actuall personalitys, instead of having 1 character trait to make up their entire personality.
One big Story Mode, where you have Ryu wander into the Story at one point, lose to Ken and then have him disappear for the rest of the Story.
The other characters actually do stuff like Story related stuff.
Also put Nu in as a guest character, CT Nu to teach SF Scrubs what real zoning hell is.
They won’t do that, as random as the story is, it’s already established. Also,there’s no guarantee the new story will be better looking at how V’s story turned out.
I seriously doubt they will fully reboot it, having to rewrite everything.
I’m in favor of retconning the entire saga but that would require smart writers who give a shit. Capcom could streamline most of the casts stories that keep the important people important and keep the side characters as flavor. Not everyone in SF need to be connected to Bison/Gill. Chun-Li really just needs to be the main character of the whole thing tbqh.

You know they could start with getting a writer who is at least consistent? That would already be a major improvement over what they currently have.
The problem is why. Japan’s tier lists just don’t match up the US ones. Remember 2.5 Laura terrorizing everyone and JP telling she was D-Tier?
Since Capcom listens more to Japan, (As all JP companies do) the characters popular there are seen as “stronger” and are nerfed so the other characters can shine.
