I love how it blowed up out of proportion from both sides.
I didnt really care enough to fact check at the start, but it seems that it blowed up because some people asked if this shoehoorning was definitive, or if it was something that would rotate and if it could be turned off since they didnt want the waifu changed for the fursona.

Ok i watched the ending of MK 11 aftermath.
SPOILER :
MK 12 is 99% a full reboot of the series lol. There are two endings, Liu Kang wins or Shang Tsung wins.
Liu Kang ending : he rewriters history and travels back in time to the original Kung Lao, telling him to train for what’s to come, implying a new mortal kombat.
Shang ending : he kills all and makes Fujin and Raiden his minions, forcing them to conquer all realms in his name while he stays smug on his throne.

As soon as Sindel murked everybody in 9, I knew the story jumped the shark.
11 still on the WOAT-tier of cinematic FG stories.
I don’t know why a lot of writers go for “kill everyone card”, it’s like they can’t provide a big enough shock or twist in the story without trying to detach the player from characters they grow to like,so they just kill them off thinking its a “wow it happened” moment for the viewer.
Death has no “value” anymore especially when all come back via timelines and so on , its like the DBZ effect.

If you want a real breakdown of my potential patch goals:
Summary

Slower dashes/faster walk speeds. Probably add 3f minimum to all dashes and adjust characters individually from there. I’d like to address their distance too but ideally I’m not looking to get too complicated with my changes.

VT from dying dramatically reduced or just gone. Large increase in meter built from VS’s and a moderate boost to CC’s if necessary. I thought about maybe adding a small amount of meter gain for normal CH’s, but again, simplicity. Ideally the prevalence of VT is the same but itd be something you earn or consciously build instead of a tool to rob someone for beating you.

Normal buffs. Large increases in active frames across the board and damage buffs on the non-cancelable, non-CC stuff. I really dislike how weak a lot of the buttons are because of this. Getting hit by stuff like Chun s.hp needs to matter way more imo. Hitbox buffs to eliminate a lot of the “feet clipping through each other” lows ia definitely something I’d like to address along with some range buffs in general.

Damaging AA’s. At bare minimum eating a heavy button AA is gonna smack you for 110. I’d also like to add more juggles from AA’s like I think Akuma b.hp.

VTC frame advantage is gonna be toned way down. It’ll still be able to make things unsafe shit more safe, but I’d like plus frames to be very rare. Shit like EX neutral bypass into Aegis on block is getting nuked.

Backdashes are throw invincible instead of the nonsense airborne state they are now.

Body the shit out of crush counters. The majority of them are gonna be unsafe, and combos from them are gonna be a bit toned down. Full combo from an unsafe 10+ frame button is fine but none of this dash up combo shit.

Better, way less homogeneous overheads. There are way too many that are the same combination of slow, unsafe, low active frames, and no reward.

Slower EX meter gain. I feel like dumping meter isn’t really a big decision in SFV because of how fast you generate it. At the same time I’d like characters to be much more robust without meter so doing this might be a double dip.
