After I got thoroughly screwed in the second semester of college, I always make sure that I have a couple friends in any class I enroll in just in case a group work happens.
Y’all don’t want to have to do a goddamn documentary with randoms. That was an incredible clusterfuck of a group work.
It’s fucking stupid. School ends on Friday. 3 days. And we are just now finding out about this and have to submit a research topic by tomorrow. No one is on the discussion board. Because I forced these people away, I have no contact to them. How the fuck are we expected to settle on a social issue by tomorrow with these chimps?
Mercury hasn’t been used in thermometers in like 30 years, I think she’s fine. Also it’s only hazardous if you actually inhale it as a vapour. Just touching it in a liquid form would have no adverse side effects.
Back in my day…I played the same video games to death and they didn’t have DLC. I just enjoyed them because they were good.
Pretty sure I have well over 1k hours in Pokémon Platinum and that didn’t have DLC. I played the same 5-6 maps on the OG Star Wars Battlefront for like 10 years lol.
I actually enjoyed EA’s star wars battlefront 2. It’s actually really well made but the game suffered a huge backlash due to the terrible dlc practices and because of that, no one’s playing it.
I actually have that game. It’s pretty good but it’s one of those games I play in bursts. Play it for a few weeks, stop for a few months, play for a month, etc.
The thing is that it has become the norm, you maybe dont consider it a plus, or something necessary, but for both players and companies, the longevity of the game depends on how well its post launch content sells.
In the case of fgs is specially sigificant.
Before you had to buy a new game if you wanted to play the new chars, balance, etc.
And more recently, if you didnt buy it, you had a fragmented playerbase when playing online.
DLC keeps you engaged since it brings change.
And that is important when you have plenty of game competing for your time by trying to convert gaming into another job, lol
Alright I skipped the research paper to go to math, and the instructor couldn’t even figure out the answer to his own question. Can’t wait for law school. Imma learn to sue the state.
Yeah that’s what happened. People were bitching about FM not being able to get them everything in the game when that was never promised. They never promised FM would buy all the cosmetics. The cosmetics were basically subsidizing FM purchases. Its was pretty obvious. You’d see the same people that bitched about FM not saying shit about not having a way to earn characters in other franchises. It was fucking annoying. Before AE dropped, FM was a grind but you still got a good amount. After AE dropped is when it started going downhill.
I don’t mean to imply DLC isn’t cool. My overall point was that if a game is good you’ll still put a bunch of time into it regardless of post launch support.
Like I get why companies do it. What I don’t understand are gamers who need something new and shiny to play a game. Like in the apex sub there is always this subset of people complaining the game is dead or this or that as if the game just stops being good 2 weeks after they add content.
