The Street Fighter 3poxy Strike: Everybody at home but SF5 doesn't have Netcode

How fucking trash is DBFZ matchmaking?
I cannot be matched with people that have similar number of matches to me, and this fucking thing gave me a purple square. I keep getting matched with people that quite literally kick my sorry noob ass. I played like 30 games since coiming back, little mercy?

I think it was actually. I’d remember if it wasn’t.

One of my big issues tonight was I was way too DP-happy and often threw them out the instant i had a feeling a jump was coming and was too early for some, or just DPing for no reason on others. I did have a few accidental ones, but i think that was on purpose.

The super was definitely an accident though. I tried to buffer low forward into super but was late as his button hit first and then my super came out the frame I was free.

Ah, no problem. Thanks for the games!

It was very hard to deal with your jump ins, since Ryu has better air buttons than my Makoto. Thankfully, I know some Ken : )

You’re a good player. Hope to fight again soon!

Thx for the patience with my connection/invite issues. I’m a grandpa and can’t deal with this steam UI on top of the game’s UI and neither know what the other is doing. I’ll get the hang of it eventually.

I’m more afraid of your makoto than your Ken, because of karakusa grab. Ken I can just block it out. Makoto makes me wanna jump cause her AA game doesn’t exist outside of fukiage, and if she whiffs it it’s slap slap time.

I’m working on my execution still, but it was already 100x better than before I rewired my stick today. So I’m happy with myself but might move HK under my thumb for easier access.

Sorry I had to bail just as we were getting all warmed up, but the wife is boss. :confounded: It was time to put the kids down for the night anyway.

Also fuck air parry.

It’s not your fault. The game’s UI is dogshit anyway.

I aim to change that!

Haha this seems to be a recurring issue people have with my play. Don’t you think that if I jump in a lot, I might have a secondary plan? Come on, dinos. Step it up.

It’s the worst feeling.

I get to bait your jump, use the proper anti-air and then you parry.

It’s the most tilting thing. Even when I try to vary the buttons and timing, you still get away with murder.

It makes sense that you do it, but damn it’s annoying to deal with.

Yeah, the point is to make you think that you’re baiting it. It works because you refuse to parry with low commitment buttons, and also that I space it well enough. That bait that you’re doing? It’s me getting into position to jump or superjump. That forces you into a mind game.

“Do I AA?”
“Do I parry > block?”
“Do I parry > punish?”
“Do I dash under?”
“Do I backdash and/or trip guard?”
“Do I air to air?”
“Do I read an empty jump and parry/throw?”
“Is he crossing me up? If so, how do I defend? Empty crossup? Crossup > overhead?”

Those are the things you have to consider every time I jump in, among others I might have missed in this glorious hour. And that’s all if I’m playing by your rhythm. It doesn’t even take into account that I’m playing at a different speed. For now, the only person I employ some mid-level mind games on is Pertho, but I fear when he gets good execution, I’m gonna have to step it up.

This coaching I’m getting really helps.

Thats the entire point.

But for some people thats not understandable and they need to blame something as of why people don’t play certain things.

and he even gets Gootecks and Mike Ross to commentate.

After more than a week playing Samsho, i can say without a doubt that i take its netcode over SFV netcode anyday.

Outside specific people, i can play most of my matches just fine.
Just recently had a lot of matches with a friend on japan and we didnt have any issues whatsoever.

It makes me wonder how is it possible that my 3rd world internet connection performs better than what many people have on usa and europe have, lol.

So I was playing BBCF with my girl this morning till now, thats the second day of her playing whats practicly her first FG.
After we did the literal basics yesterday and I let her just experiement and figure out what her character actually does. She seems to have a strange liking for Azurite Inferno.
So I watched her play Arcade and had some Versus matches.
She did manage it to get trough there and she even managed it to do soemthing in Versus.
Yeah I was sandbagging, but she hit me with stuff I didn’t expect. Like I actually got hit by Flame Punisher as I was chucking Breunors around.
After that I asked her why she wanted to use this against my fireballs.
The reply was ‘I thought a laserbeam would win against these small discs you throw at me.’

God I’m having a lot of fun with this. She seems to enjoying this too.

Lets see if I have this much fun in the evening too, I’m going against the best Kagura from the Discord today FT5. Lets see how that ends.

Hey lantis, who should I main in 3s? I want someone with good buttons who isn’t super gimmicky

Chun and Ken fit the bill the best. Both have amazing buttons and are all basics, they’re just really damn good at it.
Others worth mentioning there are SA1 Ryu (not SA3 as denjin is probably “gimmicky” in this sense), Makoto, Yang and Dudley. Maybe Elena.

Not going for the big man in your avatar?
