Who sets the standards for what gets banned?
Who sets the precedent?
Which cases are we going to pick to explain the rules on what is and isnāt fair?
If a situation can be interpreted in more than one legitimate way, how do you decide which will be the way its taken?
What are the punishments?
How do you determine that punishments are appropriate?
Is there a statue of limitations on litigating speech? If so how long?
What happens when somebody tries to use community guidelines for a personal vendetta? How is that resolved when players lose time sensitive opportunities that canāt be recouped?
What do you do about people popping off and their opponents disliking it?
What do you do about regular shit talking?
Should Caba and the DR Players been banned for being loud during matches?
What happens if a player flares up but then apologizes, do they still get punished even though the matter was resolved?
Thatās just some of the issues from the jump. This is nowhere near as simple as people make it out to be. It being simple in some areas doesnāt magically mean its easy for everything.
The other part of it is that people arenāt getting away with much these days. Somebody does something stupid, its put on display and everybody can comment to it. Then they have to deal with personal issues involving people not liking them. Take the F.Champ and Mike Z jokes situation: how much harm did they cause themselves from their comments? F.Champ lives with two black men and Mike Z has a game with a large black community. That means they were going to have to go back and face their friends about their stupidity. They didnāt get to live repercussion free, other people just wanted a more formal punishment. But even after all the embarrassment and personal issues they just caused themselvesā¦whatās the cost of an insensitive joke?
If people can get banned indefinitely for saying something stupid, the best thing to do is stop talking. People are going to say dumb things and ask dumb questions. We just had an example of of it here. Lets take what DarkPhoenix asked as an example of it. Not trying to throw my mans under the bus as being ādumbā, but he timed a weird question and put it in at a goofy time. Him asking in the first place is enough to warrant a ban from multiple places. Had he asked the same question on twitter, there wouldāve been a mob after him. He asked it here, we said some shit, his questions were answered and we all moved on getting along. This would have a way different outcome based on different moderation; hell it wouldāve potentially ended up with him being banned.
Even in SRK thereās a lot of shit that people donāt let slide. They just donāt all have the same punishments. sometimes people just telling somebody how of an idiot they are is punishment enough. On the other hand when I had somebody in the CoVid thread telling people to take random supplements with little documentation to deal with the disease (and then refusing to understand why he was wrong) you gotta go for possibly endangering people. Death threats? Get clapped too for free.
If the whole scene is going to start making rules based on how the twitter mob behaves, there are massive problems on the horizon.

My 4yo loves watching Need for Speed Heat. Itās the most recent nfs and graphics are amazing. Police chases donāt happen during the day so he can choose to go wild in peace if desired. Itās also an open world with ramps and collectables. Highly recommended.
Edit: also all the lampposts and trees break when touched, unlike most nfs games. Thatās great for poor drivers of any age. Very little is solid except for the buildings.
