This is an iconic moment for this community. Maybe things will change for the better going forward. Too long has their been issues where local events, tournaments, etc, has allowed an open door for people with bad intention to walk in. Granted, this isn’t necessarily something event organizers, players, or community members openly allow. However, I feel the FGC needed something to push change towards it’s image and I think developers, players, affiliates, etc stepping forward, saying “no”, and pulling out is such a huge accomplishment.
I’ve been sickened by having to deal with those who have come to my local events just to harass and take advantage of people and to me, this is a really important thing that has happened in Evo Online being cancelled. I really hope going forward that outsiders recognize that our events, spaces, and people are not willing to host those who wish to cause harm.

Yes. Predatory and abusive people still tend to show up and it doesn’t get addressed until someone steps forward. It should (in the most ideal world) just be known they aren’t welcome.
