Trying to play Tekken on pad is why I decided to build (and then buy) a Hitbox. That shit fucked my fingers so badly it wasn’t even fun.
I’ve been running Samsho on pad the last couple of days and it feels surprisingly fine, mostly because there are only like 3 characters in that game that require any kind of execution.
I have R1 as interact/amplify. You can also do a shortcut of that with 1+2, but sometimes you need to amplify projectiles as you input it and if the command button is 1 or 2, you need R1 to amplify it.
My R2 is block, so I tap R1+R2 to amplify interactables.
I don’t use the L buttons at all.
Please note that it’s kind of a pain to get into for various reasons… Really, I’d only recommend getting MK11 if it was really cheap or you really want to play it, and play it alot. IMO, in their quest to give lots of casual, single player content, they made it somewhat difficult/cumbersome to just get the game and hop in with a cool looking character and do cool things. It’s possible, but you have to muck around with the variations, and usually have to grind to get the better skins and things (which may not matter to a lot of people, but matters to me).
This.
This imbecilic pig is always trying to spin it like he didnt nothing wrong when from the start this douchebag always antagonized him for dumb shit, claiming he stole the tech or someone else made the vids, and mocked him and calling him liar for his health issues.
Then when he starts showing his process on how he makes the videos, the dumbass starts saying his tech is impractical and shit like that.
For a good chunk of time he has been making his followers to go after dialupsucky, then claims he hates drama and that he was the one antagonized.
The kicker of all of this is that recently this pig admited on drbloo stream that all the tech he puts in his videos is taken from other players on discord and twitter.
It became corporate because it had to. Its the biggest open tournament in the whole scene, almost all the big companies wanted to show things off during, it has the highest views out of the whole year etc etc etc.
A lot of games base their year around Evo. OGs won’t necessarily travel to CEO or some other tournaments, but they can get together or Evo because its the one tournament a year people travel to.
Yeah, it sucks what happened to it but once you get companies offering up big dollar amounts for the pots and you have thousands of people showing up, you don’t get a lot of opportunity to keep things homie.
Edit: It was the one big culminating event of the year and the tournament that’s used to define people’s accomplishments in this scene but it isn’t the heart. Yo wtf is this even? Smashers weren’t crying about getting into other random tournaments, they wanted Evo for a reason.
Yeah, I’m crossing my fingers that it eventually will be a PSN free game. But I do wanna play it, cause I’m trying to be opened minded and I’ve only played it for 20-30 minutes total.
Hated the time I had with it, but it might of been the circumstances: it was a long time ago and I’m a lot better at fighting games now.
Looks like people are starting to question who else, both in and out of EVO, might have known for years.
A clip from a couple of years ago has also resurfaced, where a story is told that when someone asked Mr. Wizard for EVO tickets, Mr. Wizard allegedly told the person they needed to do 25 naked jumping jacks to get them. Even if true, it could have just been a stupid jock-type dare brush-off. But reason or not, and true or not, it shows that people had been making claims about Mr. Wizard’s behavior for years.
It’s a different 2D game. It’s basically a 3D game on a 2D plane and has different rules than what most people are used to (like not linking buttons, not cancelling low pokes into specials, the frame data working a bit differently as well, etc).
The animation is also, to be honest, still bad in some areas. I think what they do is motion capture everything but in like slow motion (like a person will get on their knees and do a low kick over the span of like 10 seconds), but then they speed it up to an 8F attack, and it looks unrealistic and awkward as hell. People also usually look like they’re posing instead of actually attacking and putting their weight into it, and some of the jump animations look like a man just decided to float in an arc.
If MK wasn’t my favourite fighting game franchise growing up, and they didn’t do such a great job with the character designs, I don’t think I’d be bothering with it today. The game is fun though, and has some redeeming qualities to it, but there are a few humps to get over.
I’ve heard rumors for some really sketchy stuff. The real question is going to be how much leaders knew. If you were TO for a scene, and some real bullshit happened that you kept quiet on, that’s a problem.
Bunch of sexual assaults happen at Evo and nothing is said.
They hire a Smasher Pedo as a commentator to close out 2019.
Now this shit with Wiz.
Too Big to Fail doesn’t apply to things outside of banks. People have had legit complaints about the way Evo has done things (and the way SRK was run for years) without it taken very seriously.
A lot of it is that The Cannons sort of grew tired of a lot parts of the scene. They were in the position to really be the head and set an example but they didn’t (you could argue the reasons why but its just how things shook out).
