Uh, attention is attention regardless of where you give it on the internet. Not sure why you guys think you’re not giving him attention just because it’s on SRK and not Twitter.
3v3 3S tourney:
Fucking hell I just got done with some super tough games. Now I’m free to play for real. Anyone on?
Bruh the Rollback magic is real
Not only did I find an opponent in FEXL on PS4 in the middle of the night, but the guy was from Canada and the match played more or less alright
‘Q’s Just gonna taunt. What’s Remy gonna do? Throw a fireball?’
Q taunts, getting hit by Remy’s fireball.
I thought that little sequence was a little funny.
I saw someone else saying the netcode was a pretty good improvement too. Might have to check it out
Now imagine if that was actually worth something.
Wow! Good job Dayaan
Thanks! Let’s not discuss how the unranked (and unscored games) are me going 0-50.
“jewna”
Fuck sake all the Kira talk unleashed The_Shakunetsu again…
Anyway, fucking FGC Twitter is a bunch of whiny ass bitches.
“no talk of rollback bwah”
Harada explained they have rollback and what problems they have been having and promised they are being addressed
They made a united front pro crossplay, which is arguably as important as rollback and no one bats an eye.
FEXL gets rollback (which is a bigger deal than many realize since it’s Nishitani) and no one bats an eye.
At this point rollback is a fucking FGC meme
Netcode discussions have been a joke since forever.
I’m playing bitch ass volt on the end of the world in brazil with CFs Delay Netcode and the shit runs ok.
Fightcade had good Netcode since forever and people whine that 30th Netcode is shit, when they could just boot up fightcade.
FGCs and their Netcode talk, is a joke.
Harada seems to be confusing rollback with input lag
I do not think so, I think they are using a kind of rollback similar to what code mystics have.
Get your tinfoil hats out because I am going to go into some wild speculations.
In code mystics you can set a limit to how many frames of rollback you allow.
Now when Harada says 3 frames I believe he me means that they hard cap at 3 frames of rollback.
There are 2 possibilities of what I think can be different:
Either it might be possible that if the game can’t rollback inside the 3 frames it forgoes them entirely.
Or The game tries to use as little rollback as possible in any situation to avoid visual artifacts; so say the connection has a delay of 5 frames, and the game is coded so that anything below 4 frames of delay is optimal delay, it is possible that the game uses only 2 frames of rollback and keeps the game on a 3 frame delay instead of using all 3 frames of rollback and keep the game at 2 frames of delay.
So anyways, I’ve recently watched Sajam’s video where he made a tierlist of SFV’s character themes. And while I disagree with the list itself in some parts, there are a few things he mentioned that made me think - V really has one of the best OSTs in the series, but IMO it has 3 major issues:
-
The composers have to create two different themes at the same time: one of the character itself, and the other for the appropriate stage. This means that they’re required to do two arrangements of a familiar classic tune, and since there are only so many takes one can have on it, we ran into a situation where the themes vary in quality - e.g. Sakura’s stage theme is much better than her character theme
-
Capcom’s sound team for this game has like 5 different composers. And while its kind of a good thing because it brings a variety of genres, some of the composers don’t shine as much and produce disappointing tunes, like how Fukusawa, who singlehandedly made soundtracks for SFIV and Marvel 3, somehow just fucks up and makes garbage like Juri’s theme
-
It seems that certain themes prioritize character’s personality over how much the song fits the gameplay. As a result several themes have a really slow buildup (e.g. I think Kolin’s theme is lowkey amazing - it has this eerie mysterious vibe, implying she’s secretive and we don’t know 100% about her despite the existing story material), so by the time shit gets to the good part - either the round or even the match is already over, so you don’t get to hear the best bit
Agree/disagree?
GBVS Singapore vs Thailand if you guys are interested.
And yup Harada did say that if they introduced more than 3 frames of rollback, the moves will look glitchy.
If they want full rollback they probably have to design Tekken 8 around that. Idk how that is gonna work.
