How about u look at it like this. Did u pay for anything? no…so right there u should all be THANKFUL instead of crying like 3 year old children whom cannot find their favorite toy.
Next they were streaming this the entire weekend and although it was not perfect it was VASTLY better than last year’s stream. The few crashes here and there then BAM u all jump at their jugulars. All of u complaining are just inconsiderate asshats period.
And last is crashed during like the last round of ricky getting raped? I mean really kudos for ricky placing 2nd much respect but not one of u can truthfully say “yes ricky had a shot at winning” much less coming back from losers to even it up. There was very little hype in comparison to some of the other matches that have taken place this evo so why qq about seeing what u know what going to happen?
In closing thank u to all the people responsible for the stream. I personally enjoyed it even with regards to watching games I am normally not into. Dung happens and the fact that a ton of people are proving that they need to go get laid should not deter u from realizing that there are those whom are thankful for your dedication and hard work in bringing the feel of evo to the others whom could not make it. To anybody that disagrees with me you’re an inconsiderate jackass without any consideration…especially retards that go “oh this ruined it for me!” …shoot yourself in the face plz. Rid the world of your useless genes.
no they seriously fucked up. and they were trying to advertise their services all weekend. who would want to take them now with all the fuck ups that happened? They are usually excellent but choked BADLY when at a huge major. You guys have to remember that Levelup is NOOOOOOOOOOOOOT a free service, Evo is paying to have them stream the event. And don’t come back with “well they don’t even have to stream it so you should be happy with you get.” I’m sorry but a standard has already been set. After all that’s changed over the past 2 years, there is no excuse for the quality of the stream and what we should expect from THE major of the year. We sit through the commercials just like we would while watching TV, it’s the exact same thing.

Yeah, you’re right, the internet connection of one of the largest casino/hotels in Las Vegas, hell, probably in America, must not be up to par.
Fuck that, it was their fault. The stream was put together extremely poorly. Starting off with the choice of Stickam and then fucking up at key moments on the last day, and ONLY on key moments. It was almost like it was on purpose.
For those who missed, here’s a summary of the stream:
- It was decided that Stickam, who clearly have never run a major stream before as they used a single server, was the best choice to stream EVO from!
- All day Friday the stream was plagued by terrible hiccups and 5 second freezes, usually perfectly timed with the commentators yelling “OOOOHHHHH!!! THAT WAS SICK!”.
- Saturday it was a little less laggy with only the occasional jitter. This was the most complaint free day.
- And of course Sunday, the grand finals. Stream crashed TWICE during the SSF4 finals, and of course one of these times was during the final match of the grand finals. Lag throughout the day again, and they also thought it would be a good idea to put Adam Sessler on to commentate without first instructing him even how a best 2 out of 3 match works, let alone a few basics, or telling him that not all asians are Daigo.
Overall, good EVO, clusterfuck of a stream.

Second, like someone pointed out, this was a business transaction that went horribly wrong for everyone involved. EVO is getting larger and larger (last year they had half the audience they had now) and for them, this is a time to shine and show you’re worth throwing money at. Madcatz endorsements, G4…this can be something lucrative to help it grow, but when it’s portrayed as an amateur and second-rate program, you lose a lot of potential clients. Who wants to be affiliated with something that looks low-budget?
Speaking of low-budget, don’t tell me that the outcome was a foregone conclusion and thus wasn’t a big deal. They were both low on health in the third round of the third game with seconds left in the round. If daigo won, we would see him crowned winner and our three day journey to see who was best would be complete. If Ricky won, he would have forced another round, which wouldn’t have been seen in it’s entirety because the stream was down. In the end, I wanted a chance to celebrate daigo’s victory but instead I was too busy missing the moment because folks dropped the ball. Watching EVO is an investment of time and for it to come to such an anticlimatic end is a huge disappointment.
the stream died big fuckin whoo Ricky O had to beat Daigo two sets. Soon as I saw Ricky O vs Daigo Grand Finals I no longer gave a shit about the stream. Daigo looked like he was watchin paint dry while winnin Evo this year. America is free

i stayed up to watch saturday nights here in the uk, thought the stream was fantastic. Good thing i wasn’t able to try on friday and sunday.
I’m glad none of the E.G. team won at all. The stream crapping out on 50,000 is horrible though.

The truth is, even though they did a great job for most of the time people will forget that. Level up live will be forever known and remembered most for fucking up at the last (anti)climatic moment when Daigo took his victory during the last grand finals of the main event for the EVO World Championship in SSF4. Imagine if this happened during say if Paquiao knocks out Maywheather, but during that round the cable went out across the world?
Leveluplive reputation will be known forever as the stream crew that will host a great stream and fail when it counted most, and let the fighting game community down. I’m sure they feel embarrassed as hell right now. I actually feel more sorry for them.
