The Empire owes the Fighting Game Community a huge major event. We have until the end of this year to pull it off. We were suppose to do something at M4, however “politics” got involved and we not able to do what we wanted to do. However just because we are late does not mean that we can not finish. So later this year we plan to still run this major event and adding a major KOF or Samuri game. Who knows?
Either way between now and then I would like to continue some locals and possibly a regional of KOF in the Empire State. So when the Empire gets a opening within its schedule we will work on something.
Meh, I find the game quiet enjoyable. Its not as slow as you make it sound, I mean games like CvS2 and CFJ are perty much the same speed (sort of).
I wish Rumblish Fish 2 would hit consoles already, seeing as how the cloest arcade that has this game is a couple of states away.

That is true indeed…but I look at it like this…we all love 2d fighters right? I am going to take my Modded Ps2 to TS6 with the sole intention of hopefully stirring up a NGBC and Tenka tourney there on the side…I will try my very best to promote SNK games…esp the late ones like Mycah said today because they deserve to be seen.

That’s reason #1 why the scene is so stale now.
i think the best thing to do, is to get out some good match videos and combo videos of games you want to be seen. if someone told me a new fist of the north star game is out and i had no videos or anything to go off of. i would be like, fuck that game, whatever, but as soon as i saw the gameplay and the potential, i started drooling over it. most of the games im obssessed with now, are due to me seeing videos and being like,“wtf” you can do that(plus some games are just good). thats what keeps us gamers hype. seeing people better than us, or at least on the same level, seeing that you can really do something with this game, and that you should spend more time developing your skills and understanding the system. i played kof99 and i hated it to death, and i still do hate kof, but ive seen some nice vids of it, but not any MATCH vids(or just a lack of, compared to t5, gg, 3s and mvc2) . so the combos got me like “wtf”, but the lack of support on getting up new stuff, basically is keeping me away from going ahead and spending my money, because like most people, i have a sour taste with snk, other than ss, but even that isnt worth sweating to me, because i have yet to get a taste of the new game(the old ones were fun, but the fighting system just still never gave me the oh ahs. just, oh this is fun to b.s with) , with videos and what not. i wont spend money on shit, until i see some gameplay.
thats why i am in love with cvs2, t5/dr, gg, fotns, vs series(although mvc2 just annoys me now, but its still so entertaining and it has such a big scene, that you just want to learn the game)
so for all you who want to see rumble fish, soul caliber, kof, dbz tenkai, and all other games that you feel have potential and should be up there with the rest. then you should make videos. post them, and allow us to download them(FUCK GOOGLE VIDEO AND YOUTUBE AND ANYTHING THAT WONT LET ME DOWNLOAD MOVIES) , so we can realize that, damn, this game looks alright and these matches look good. maybe i should go buy it and see whatsup and/or maybe i should host these games in my next tournament or gathering.
you dont need a hundred followers on srk to get this started. just a website and some good videos. that really give us a little understanding of the gameplay,and if it still sucks, then obviously you wont get any players and you go on about your bussiness, but i think alot of recent fighting games dont suck that bad, but just arent given enough attention, because the players dont really have a scene to show off to anyone, because no one is playin it. i mean, you master fighting games for the sole purpose of destroying others. no because its casually fun.
post vids. add them to your tournaments. host tournaments and gatherings. thats how you get it done. blabbin on here wont do much. because we dont care:rofl:

Which is 3s only way different. No Karathrow/c.MK games. JD is a toned down parry that’s more balanced. Which is good for all you parry haters. Addition of short hops means more aggression. Whiffing for super is less safe. Yeah no runaway Yun. Good graphics and similar gameplay that everyone should be able to transition to. Of course, nobody has it and nobody wants to play it.
I think it would help if we got younger gamers get into the scene. Especially with 2D fighters.
So far everything that has been stated, I fucking 100% believe in these statements. The fighting game community for the most part in the us is fucking dead. KOF and Garou. Are bother really great games. I just never got in to them because of the fact that no one played them at all. I have no problem travelling for the games and such as long as they are being played by alot of people. All the fighting game community really has honestly is 3s, tekken 5 and(more recent) doa4 which i will add is a really damn good game. Everyone should get in to it. Im a fighting gamer for life but there has to he something worth playing and people have to want to play it. And just becuse im in a good mood. GOOD REPS FOR EVERYONE!!
Well, its not easy to evolve becuase all of the new games aren’t what we’re use to, like you(mycah) said. Yes, theres alot of capcom players that refuse to change, but in order to change you, you have to start completly from scratch since there aren’t any sequels. Sure fighting games have their similarities, but who wants to give up something they’ve worked so hard at?
Also, the general fighting scene is already fading away, so why start playing a game that seems to have no one playing it? Its hard enough to play the popular fighters and find good compitition, but other games may seem impossible to find good compitition. I know people should play what they like and not what the majority plays, but not everyone has the option of playing the unpopular games of the unpopular genre.
I’m not saying we shouldn’t move on to the next game, but its just isnt the easiest thing to do. So I agree with alot of the points made here, but we cant put all the blame on the capcom players…unless they have local snk/ggxx compitition:wink: .

Yeah, and of those 3 games how many are available outside of Japanese arcades? And with Majesco gone how likely are we to ever see any of those come to the US? Sure KoF XI will show up on a US console in 2009, but by then it will just be another dated SNK game that nobody gives a shit about.
Yeah I forgot about Garou good point!!! That is a great game I failed to mention that people did not play. I think the main reason the SNK arcades are not in the US is because the USA doesnt really support SNk games at all. Overseas SNK rules practically…so you see SNK arcades everywhere…where as here the SNK genre is almost non existant.
KOF XI will be on console THIS SUMMER…Btw…see how fast they are releasing the arcade to console games? Theres many reasons for this…#1 to notice…maybe they are trying to get others to play these games sooner rather than later??
I only like KOF 95 as a personal favorite, but I would play Last Blade 2 and some of the Samurai titles in tournies as well.
I dont think people dis snk games cause it sucks, I thinks it just dosn’t play how people want it to. I dont like how the other kof’s play thats why I dont play em.

sorry to say but it seems our only hope is some new invention is made and lag is destroyed, but then again how laggy are mmorpg’s? if theres no lag in highly commercialized mmorpg’s then fighting game systems implemented into these games are its only future
i really dispise mmorpg’s battle systems and if fighting games future is it being implemented into that then i can safely say i enjoyed shenmue so i will deffinetly enjoy that, ALOT
im sorry but its gonna be a FAT battle for you if your gonna try and save the fighting game scene, and me getting into fighting games and street fighter in the first place was solely BECAUSE of the fighting game scene i want this as much as you all do
with all my heart i prefer the social get together of it all its ten times much more fun than sitting at home playing online LOL but it seems as though the only way it will be created again is if cabinets become EXTREMELY cheap, or the internet dies, but i doubt google will let that happen

The scene here is more greater then before,mainly because of sinn spreading the word to random scrubs about srk,to get them out of that scrub land.
Everyone knows about marvel,thats way its still top game.not eveyone knows about cvs2,sfa3,Im talking about the new generation.Once people see the flashy combos glitches and mathces,that would tense them.Saying this game should be known and lets play this now will only make players rusty in there game which gonna really messed things up.

i agree with this statement, not just younger people but people outside of the genre. me what i try to do is , when im going to a lan/halo party, i always take my xbox with sfac or kof02 in it and when i take the disk out there like, “what game is that”, i say street fighter, and they immediately come back with “oh, that shit was crazy back in the day, yo pop that in when we’re done with halo.” next thing you know they’re interested in the game and wanna play more.
