I respect Ohnuki even more for that statement, because technically, he’s right (even though I have vids of him playing Z2 nationals way back, but clearly not back enough).

A lot of things in ST can be tweaked. I agree that chun mp throw damage is slightly overpowered especially for the kill (no scaling, can even kill gief with 15-20% left sometimes). So is boxer’s grab (too many hits).
I consider boxer’s grab more broken since 1. you can tech chun’s (it’s not bad if you are fast) and she’s in a bad spot after a tech throw. 2. charge characters can’t shake out of the grab without losing charge 3. boxer has a lot more setups and grab can be repeated with or without walking under.
And I don’t think that throw loop is cheap. One of the biggest turn off for me in SF4 is the tech throw. When someone gets close, something should happen.
In ST you have throw bait -> punish, tech throw 1/2 damage, throw attempt getting reversal dp, reversal throw, meaty to punish failed reversal, etc etc.
Old characters not able to tech throw is a bug but then I don’t think o ryu o ken o sagat need that. They are the best zoners in the game with the most damaging or invincible reversals + no charge required. You deserve it if you got yourself in that situation with those 3 characters. As for the other o characters, oh well they are among the lowest tiers for many reasons and this is one of them

Nope, she just started playing Claw for the first time ever like…a week ago, lol. I taught her a few basics, and she’s starting to get the hang of it, but she’s not used to a character who can hit so many buttons and not die because of it.
She got tired of losing to shotos and decided she needs an alternate character for her bad matchups. I’d say Honda/Claw is a pretty decent team to take into tournaments.
