Does this apply to all tick throw attempts? Like against Chun? I imagine it would, since I know deejay has some weird property on his MGU where has has no hurt box on start-up before his actives kick in.
It’s for the range and speed more than that. DeeJay does still have a hurtbox at his feet before his hits come online, so you can still get tossed when you throw MGU out if your opponent is right on top of you and hit the timing. The first hit of the MGU just does out-range Dic’s throw if he’s walking in, though.
I think it has to do with where his (white) throw box is and not whether he has a hurtbox. It looks like the first 4-6 frames of the animation does have a throwbox, though, so you’re still right:
There is something I’ve noticed that I inferred without directly explaining. There is no time in the game engine that I’ve ever seen where you have an active ground throwbox while having no hurtboxes.
Check the Wiki, look at every move. Never happens.

It’s +8 on hit. Timing-wise, it can link into almost all of Fei’s ground normals. Spacing is, of course, an issue.
